When the Prime Minister is humiliated in the Commons vote on Tuesday, the EU expects, will grant an extension to our March 29th 2019 withdrawal.

// May has to give parliament a statement on her next move within three parliamentary working days of the vote. EU officials believe that whatever emerges will likely require a prolongation of the two-year negotiating period. //

What is the point? Her deal will never, ever be accepted. The longer she is there, the more remote a solution will be. Let her fail, and lets start anew.

Gromit, //So you think the DUP will support May against tbeir own interests and vote for a backstop ?//
No they won't, but they will back her when Corbyn submits his vote of no confidence.
looks like "no Brexit" will be the outcome of this week.....

Which is what May has wanted all along.
gromit; "So you think the DUP will support May against tbeir own interests and vote for a backstop ? " - no but they will support her in a VONC, last thing they want is pro IRA, Agent COB and the Quartermaster in no 10.
well mush, she and others may say that but I've yet to see how that can come about. In fact I've yet to see how they will avoid the default of no deal. Lot of speculation but no actual detail.
No Brexit is the most unlikely outcome, because May's plot for it will be rejected, and government has the referendum result they are obliged to deliver.
Keeping the Tories in government will have no affect on the vote against May's attempt to keep us all in the EU. You are confusing two different things. While the Tories need support the DUP has limited power; if the Tories are replaced by the present opposition then the DUP would lose that sway. It's in their interest to vote against a GE.
