and a Bramble cocktail to start with for us this evening.
How about you, what you all having?
And another question...what do you have with salad? We’ve been having various quiches, will have some prawns in Marie Rose sauce next time, and had a lovely pizza with salad last night.
Looking for some inspiration.

I'm having elephant butties. That's if my local shop has saved me an elephant. They'd completely sold out yesterday :-(
And there's me always thinking it was prawn!

Bramble is my second favourite cocktail, first being a margarita.
I’ve just made a jug of it, chilling in the fridge for later.
I used the juice of a lemon, two measures of gin, one of creme de mure, and as I have no sugar syrup I added half a tsp of sugar which will be well dissolved by the time we have it. I may have to make a second batch!
We both love the sweetness of scampi and lobster.
Ooh, why didn’t I think of chicken salad!
I've not been told what we're having yet.

With salad ? A kitchen waste bin, usually.
It can't, Barry, and precisely why I rarely order scampi. Last time I risked it was about 6 months ago at a local public house, tasted like plain old white fish to me. Not ordering that, there again.
barry....it's not called "scampi" - it's called "scampi bites". So, by some clever labelling laws, they can get away with it being only 7% scampi.
We have been eating Greek salads during the warm weather. we have a freezer with loads of whole mackrel which we always enjoy. Any fish a la Greque suits us with salad
I suspect that what O_G was served in a pub were the dreaded 'scampi bites' (as per Barry's link above).

Although this is a commercial site, it does a good job of explaining what the different types of scampi are and about the rules regarding labelling, etc:

I don't eat a lot of scampi but I'll occasionally order it in my local Morrison's café, just for a change. (It's decent quality in there).

It's never going to be as good as that sea bream I had for my lunch though. It was fresh off the boat this morning and was utterly delicious ;-)

We only buy Youngs Wholetail scampi, I really wouldn’t waste my money on any other, or order them in a pub or restaurant having been disappointed in the past.
We have salad this evening with smoked mackerel fillets
We're having a fusion of moussaka/lasagne. So basically a moussaka with the aubergine, meat sauce and sliced boiled potatoes layered but in between the layers, there's cheese sauce and lasagne pasta sheets. First time tried but success, served with salad & garlic bread
Salmon cooked in lemon and butter, with new potatoes, carrots, peas and pak choi. Strawberries and greek yohurt to follow.
I'm having egg muffins (left to cool) with salad tonight. Quick and easy.
Tonight it's a cheese, onion, and sundried tomato omelette. I put so much cheese in, I don't need anything else.
If I have a salad, it's a meal in a bowl. Spinach, rocket, little gem, cherry or plum tomatoes, spring onions, cold cooked chicken or salmon or prawns, Italian salami, Parma ham, olives, cheeses.
It was supposed to be wholetail breaded :-(
