Just come back from the Fracture Clinic since having the accident.
Cast came off.. and they had to pull stitches out that were stuck in one of the wounds so that was excruciating. Other wound had disposable in thankfully.
New Cast put back on. Everything seems to be healing perfectly.
It was quite a nasty shock as they showed me the xray pictures that were taken today. I really didn't know how much they have put in my leg/ankle.
I have 2 huge screws going diagnolly through my ankle bone and tibia.. then on the other side of my leg I have a plate and 6 big screws going up that leg. I was never told how many or what they had put in just that it was screwed n plated. So quite a shock seeing it for first time.
Slipped in the snow the morning we got it.. heard something snap.. stood up again and snapped another part.. broke tibia at ankle completely inc taking bit of bone off.. and broke the fib mid calf.
yeah it is very difficult my little boy doesn't understand god bless him
Aw I get shivers every time you say it........realy nasty one:(
Good news from the clinic -just as well you went back to A & E at the weekend. They must be pleased with you if they dont want to see you 4 weeks.Take care x
Thanks Dris - makes me cringe now.. really didn't realise how bad it was until i saw the xray picture today... Really knocked me sick.. Going to be awhile before I come to terms with it i think.
