Need ice here today ,it's sweltering. I've just come back from having a lunch at the local Toby with my brother and niece.An unexpected outing .He rang at the crack of dawn to ask if I'd like to go with them and very nice it was too.Hope you're all ok .

too true, shaney, I went out before and it was quite warm. By the time I came back an hour ago it was sweltering. So I made a couple of Aperol spritzes. Slightly bigger than planned as I put more prosecco in than I meant to so I had to balance it with more Aperol, so I thought best to add more than just a splash of soda water.

Anyway, we seem to have got to the bottom of the barrel between us...

not really bitter, more like slightly sour. The spritzes are very refreshing (the way I do them, anyway), also slghtly sour, with sparkle from the prosecco.

I forgot to mention, the Ham Yard hotel also has borage growing in the garden, little blue flowers the size of a thumbnail. They put them in their ice cubes.

I've flopped about with a fan on watching a really good programme on More4.The aftermath of WW1 in colour .
Similar to the the one they did for 100 year anniversary but it showed Europe and how their empires collapsed,the rise of communism and fascism.Great footage of people like Woodrow Wilson,Lenin,Clemenceau,the Kaiser etc and of course some horrific stuff of returning soldiers who were maimed.Being in colour brought it all to life.

We have a shiny new router but it won't connect to wifi so I can only communicate via desktop. Fortunately I mostly use the iPad just for sudokus anyway.

Yippee, a little man called Bola this morning just as I was sitting down to tea and toast! It was the telephone company and they got us back online! So all working well now. Deep joy!
I hope you are all managing in this heat, yesterday was the worse day, didn't know what to do it myself in the heat!

Hot as Hades here,hotter than yesterday.Even a warm weather bug like me can't stand it.Supposed to cool down after today though.
We had a humdinger of a thunderstorm early yesterday but it didn't clear the air for long. Keep cool folks.
