I'm really disappointed to see that the more juvenile answers have been removed. Why? To save face for some of our esteemed male members who have shown themselves to be unable to treat the question seriously? I'm also disappointed...though not surprised...that some answered as they did.
ED...please reconsider and reinstate all answers. We are all, grownups on here...and are quite capable of coping with such nonsense.
//Nailit, given you were one of the nudge nudge wink wink brigade to start with//
Really? Why?
// perhaps you might just shut up? //
Sorry BM, thought this was a question and answer site. I'll not reply from now on then...or ask questions...or contribute in any way...
pasta, a misunderstanding of the male psyche in that we often make light of a serious question through some humour/banter....it doesn't mean that we underestimate the gravitas of a situation/scenario/ whatever.....
Just as with women, the same act done to different men can be seen as harmless banter or sexual abuse depending on the outlook/attitude of the recipient of the act. People are different and react different ... that will never change.
I've never been bothered or flustered by unwanted advances from women but I can accept that all men are not the same.
You should be ashamed yourselves....you know who you are....
There are definitely some men out there that have experienced some sort of sexual abuse from a woman, and probably, because of the nudge nudge school boy mentality of some of the comments on this thread, dare not mention it....so dont.
Unbelievable, guys....and not in the least funny imo.
This is B&S, not friggin Chatterbank!
It was several years ago, but all the news about abuse made me think of it. There was a program last night with women from shop assistants and waitresses to executives all claiming they had been abused on a regular basis.
Usually in between the wisecracks you also get serious answers.
I'm not entirely sure everyone on this thread objecting to the wisecracks can honestly say they haven't been guilty of it in the past.
I agree, Talbot. But on this occasion it seemed like a serious question asked in a serious topic. Perhaps the benefit of the doubt is necessary and "wrong time wrong place".
Wisecracks are fine in context. I am not sure a thread asking seriously about incidences of sexual abuse is that context. Certainly not -- and this is the key point -- if you don't know who's reading, if you don't know who your audience is.
In a one to one with someone you're close to and know well, then humour can be judged easily.
With strangers on an open forum where you don't know everyone's past experiences or those of the people who may come along later looking for advice on the same subject - different.
I was sexually abused by a school teacher over 40 yrs ago, I think I know what I'm talking about. Mods that delete because they don't like it need to get a life of their own. Idiots. I'm off, goodnight.
This thread is EDDIE asking blokes on here to tell him and the rest of AB if they have been sexually abused by a woman or women. If it was someone reaching out I could understand the outrage.
But it isn't ... It's just EDDIE with a story ( not included in the OP)
