I have bought a rather nice writing slope on ebay, however the lock doesn't work at all. Its quite easy to remove though and in fact I suspect that its not the original one anyway. I've hunted around but the only supplier of replacements I could find is in america and the p and p is huge.

Does anyone know of a UK supplier of writing slope (wooden box) locks please? Either new or old but they must work and come with a key.

Hello all
Brrr ,what a cold day .It's -5C real feel and just as I set off to the surgery down came the sleet.I looked like Nanook of the north trudging along. Now have to wear compression socks ,deep joy ,and she's put some different stuff on it.I think, fingers crossed ,these double dose antibiotics are doing the trick although they make me feel a bit wobbly and sickly. Back again on Monday.
How sad about Alan Rickman,he was brilliant actor.
Yes keep warm Robinia .I won't be going anywhere until after the weekend .
I've got plenty of cuppa soup :)
Hi shaney you poor old thing. That leg is a nuisance isn't it!
Just made and eaten chicken potato and walnut (no peanuts) Thai curry, pad Thai noodles and mixed fried rice. It was excellent except I forgot to put in fresh coriander, he didn't notice so I sat here and said nuffin.
I adored Alan Rickman, I did wonder why he married his partner after all these years guess we know why now..
All the best Shaney I really feel for you. Hope by Monday it's really on the mend and all the meds have worked. I've a bit of a worry now about Steadier.
When he was young in his 20s he had a eurethral (sp!) stricture and had to have an op then a few years ago he had to have another and now he tells me it is beginning to happen again. He is going to see the Dr. tomorrow and hopefully he will be going to the specialist to get it sorted.

Keep wrapped up again Robi tonight it's threatening again to be cold. I've had to up my heating and put thicker underwear on.

I really like Alan Rickman too. I thought he was brilliant in Robin Hood and Harry Potter in particular.
I'm looking forward to going to town tomorrow, haven't been yet, and I'm going to buy some winter pjs from M & S plus anything else I fancy and can offordwith Steady's Gift Card.

Have a good night all

ooooh it's cold out there. We went downtown to see the illuminations

http://canarywharf.com/arts-events/events/winter-lights-canary-wharf/

but it's right on the river and there was a bitter wind howling in from the steppes of Hammersmith.

Some nice exhibits, though.
Bloomin' awful here .Freezing cold, lashing it down ,blowing like crazy and now there's a flood alert.
Yes it a nuisance Neti .I'm hoping the socks help.I'm on 1000 mg of antiboitics every four hours but it's still painful. The leg has never been right since I had that cellulitis a few years ago .I'd love to find the gnat that bit me ! I've got one good leg and a swinger :)
I hope your son will be alright Jude and they can get it sorted for him soon as.
Night all,keep warm .

Oh, you sneaked in there Jno .That looks lovely .Very good lighting effects.

I'm hoping to see it tomorrow night (because the trains into London aren't running over the weekend so it has to be Friday)

we have got about 10 minute snow forecast after midnight. Whoop de do. Shaney get that leg fixed. Are you taking a multivit?
Morning all. Well it's raining lightly, I was going to wash the king-size bedding but it's a good excuse not too. Don't have so much energy of late. Maybe our winter is finally here, as woofy would say whoop de woo!!
Jude not quite sure what is wrong with Steadier but have a vague idea, I do hope he'll be okay too.
Hope Robi is okay, she doesn't appear to be too well atm either.
Lovely lights jnr, ,glad one of is keeping the biddy galvanising flag flying.
Hope you are okay woofy and them "pups"
I did enjoy Lucy in Russia. Mr N can't quite work out why she marches along with soldiers, I think she's sweet!
Merry Christmas! Well it looks and feels like it (RF -4C), had to break the ice on the birdbaths and everyone's had to scrape their cars. We've even got illuminations I see... they're lovely jno.

Oh dear, sounds uncomfortable Jude, hope he's ok. Ozzy had a short lived problem as a child but the gp said it was growth spurt related and bits of our bodies grow at different times. (He'd been a paedatrician...but he was lousy with adults)

Still feeling crippy, I was doing a bit better yesterday until I plummeted at teatime so I was off to bed just after eight. Thankfully at the moment (fingers crossed), apart from the occasional tickle, I haven't got a cough. That's what wears me out. Dizziness and nausea's getting me down though.

Take it easy and keep taking the tablets shaney, you'll get there.
ooh, my knitting yarn's on the way. I'll have it all whizzed up by.....erm....August, when it's 30C :)
Morning all
It's a catalogue of disaster here. Sat on loo,the seat went one way and I went the other.Looked out of the window to see the back fence laying across the alley. Switched computer on and it's blankety blank.
Dreadful here last night weatherwise ,roaring wind, storming it was.Still sleeting out there.-
_minus6 real feel.
Yes amt aking a multivit nurse Woofy:)

Chap came round though and shored the fence up pro tem.
Yes am taking a multivit nurse Woofy:)

Am typing this on my tablet and it's tedious.Take care all, keep warm .
o

Been out dressed for arctic weather and although grey and miserable.I sweated like the proverbial.whatever. Eye/nose is playing.up today so everyone thinks I'm either crying or got a cold. I've been looking for an electrical can opener, mine is 20yrs old and missing important bits. There is not one to be found in this village. I can't believe it. Then to cap it all when I get home with sneaky food for feral cats Mr N is home. He looks at me guiltily but it's not his fault.

glad to hear it Shaney, its a thing many don’t think about when there is difficulty healing something. We went out early in the cold to avoid the bottle wagon. Dogs really did not want to get up and go out in the cold, bless they came in and have been dozing on and off since. Its cold and bright here too, no snow but frost and ice this morning.
Oh shaney you and your possessions are in the wars. Love your last post. Hope things improved through the day,
Sooooo cold today. Went into M&S and bought some 'cuddly' pjs and some thermal woolly tights on the gift card Steady gave me. The pjs. are now on and the thermals have to go back as one leg has a big hole in it. So back on Monday to get my money back. I've still got some left on the card so I could see something else l like. Fuschia came round today for a cuppa and told me the girls play tomorrow kick off at 9.30 then I've got The Rams k.o. a 3 in the afternoon. Housework won't get done til Sunday I reckon. Who cares! Not me!
Have told you I've got my ticket to see them play Manchester United in the cup?

I like illuminations Jno. I used to go to a place called Matlock and they had lights and a boat parade on the river but I've not been for years but it was good. Not as big as where you are of course. Matlock is where motor bikers meet up on Sunday's.

Keep taking the tablets Shaney and everyone else who has to and hopefully your wil be better soon.

Off to bed so goodnight all. See ya tomorrow
Sorry your wil be better doesn't look at all right does it.

'You will be better soon'

Goodnight again. ;-)
Morning...feels Arctic here if that's what you want neti.

Enjoy the footy but keep warm outdoors Jude. My sis bought me some M&S pj's at xmas, I haven't worn them yet cos I'd forgotten where I'd put them until yesterday. :)

Oh dear shaney, it's not your week shaney. Not mine either.
I read my horoscope last week....I know, please don't all roll your eyes.... and uncharacteristically JC (no, not that one, Jon Cainer) said things would go wrong this week. I chose to poo poo it. Ha! Started off with IBS, progressed to woman flu and today I find BT has overcharged me for the new contract I agreed to on the 2nd Jan. 25 mins on the phone and it's agreed, I'm right, it's their mistake. Thankfully I write it all down as they're telling me, date, time, everything. I've never had a problem with them in all these years. Thing is I have to wait for next month's bill to be 100% sure they've done what they say. sigh

Things can only get better. KBO.
