I have bought a rather nice writing slope on ebay, however the lock doesn't work at all. Its quite easy to remove though and in fact I suspect that its not the original one anyway. I've hunted around but the only supplier of replacements I could find is in america and the p and p is huge.

Does anyone know of a UK supplier of writing slope (wooden box) locks please? Either new or old but they must work and come with a key.

I'm as posh as you Woofy .I'm also sporting a huge disreputable woolly cardi and a scarf tucked into my jumper along with my trousers tucked into fake Uggs. I look like a bag lady ..haha. Very icy out there now.
I escaped to the warmer climes of Sicily and watched The young Montalbano.
Night all,keep warm .
I went to see the bright lights and am now resting my back on my heated cushion. The problem was some sort of installation in the Mall. I walked from Admiralty Arch to the Palace and back, stopping to join discussion groups on the way, all of them asking what was it and where was it. We all came to the conclusion that it didn't exist and was just a ruse to force people to take exercise. But there were some very imaginative exhibits there and a couple that were dead boring.

It was sort of drizzling/light sleeting/faint snow flurrying on the way back but I don't think the blizzards are going to reach down our way, at least not tonight.

Though I see it does say Snow, heavy at times, starting in 4 min. Can you get St Bernards on 111 or does it have to be 999?
Good morning, well are you covered in the white stuff. Eastbourne certainly is, and it is jolly cold here, am I my bed at 10.22! It is 4° and that is cold for us!
there was a sprinkling of snow on the lawn when I got up (too early) but it has almost vanished. It's supposed to be 2 here and it may be, it feels quite chilly.

no snow here, just grey drizzle. They keep forecasting we will get 3.79 minutes of snow in the middle of the night then they go ha ha fooled ya.
Yes I thought the installations looked very variable in quality. did you see the phone box with the goldfish in? On the vid they look very real indeed.
the aquarium was closed, but at least I was told about that by one of the marshals. (There are big crowds out to see all this and they need marshalling - entry to Grosvenor Sq and Leicester Sq is being controlled.) Maybe the fish get the weekend off.

The garden won't be liking this weather, the hedge was in full blossom and there were some flowers on the cyanothus and viburnum; can't see any others at the moment.
Hi all, back from lunch. We went to Sta Innes which is famous for its almond blossom which is early this year but not quite blooming yet which is just as well as I only went for the famous tortilla (veg omelette) and real chips and wine. Home now in in bearlike pj's having a cuppa!

Goodnight all so tired I'm off to bed.
looked pretty while it was there, jude. But I'm glad it didn't fall here.
Food morning all. Haven't I been on today, shocking lapse on my part. Beautiful day with a slight chill in the air but really b cold on sea front!
Caught up on the bidding washing and it is drying so quickly I love it.
What is the point of having snow if it disappears so quickly eh jude?
Hello all
Lovely sunny day but very cold with a real feel of -1c according to Accu.We haven't had any snow thank goodness. It all looks very nice and I'm sure children and dogs love it but it's nothing for hobbly old dames like me .
Nothing doing at Shaneytowers.Trudged to the surgery for gammy leg treatment back again on Friday.
Hope you're all Ok .
How much did you bid for your washing Neti :)
Haha shut it shaney! I always think I've typed it perfectly and I'm sure I do but it changes itself when I submit!
So poor old leg same old same old?
My arm is so painful from neck to wrist but am seeing some sort of Mexico on Wednesday. It won't be one i know!
It's slowly clearing up I think Neti .Only one more day of these awful antibitiotics which have made me feel rotten .
She put some type of silicone dressing on it today. It's still painful ..ish but the tightness in my skin around the split/ulcer seems to have gone down a bit and it's not so swollen.Fed up with it all now.
Hope they can get to the bottom of what's making your arm so painful.

hello all, another dull grey day here and more tidying. I have come to a halt until I get a new different shaped wine rack. which I can’t get delivered until wednesday. Glad your leg is healing Shaney. Neti I hope you get sorted by the mexico.
That photo was 5.30 in the morning. I just got back into bed! Believe it or not there were photos of children in the local paper playing in it with their families. One day is all they got. I'm not sorry it has gone Shaney cos I get a bit nervous walking to the paper shop. I tend to walk in the gutter which is usually clear.
Today after a few errands in town and making an appointment to have my eyes tested I met a friend for lunch. 2 hours there it took. Not the service the chatting. I only see her about 4 times a year. Then this evening I nipped out to see another friend at her house. I've had more drinks of tea and coffee than I've had in one day for ages.
Hope the leg treatment is working well Shaney.
Watching Silent Witness now. Looks a bit violent. Are any of you watching/watched it.

Have a good night with aches and pains at a minimum.

one of our neighbours is all of a tizz - her brakes failed while she was driving. She took the car to the garage and they said the brake lines had been cut deliberately. She left it with them an the insurance provided her with another car - and the same thing happened to it. So now she's unable to sleep, wondering who's trying to kill her. It sounds awful.
Morning all. Blimey jno that is frightening. How do they know.which cars are hers if she's only got one on loan?
Am on ibiza bus (2€) as have to renew my bus pass.
Sunny but chilly day.
I presume they're doing it in her driveway, I didn't hear. She's a magistrate and thinks it may be revenge from someone she's fined or something. Police are investigating.
That's worrying jno.
Back from ibiza where I bought another pair of boots! Made a nice change.and it my friend driving the bus and he enveloped me in a big hug all the locals behind were mumbling as they couldn't work out why this foreigner a) was getting a Hug and 2 kisses
And
b) why I had a pensioners pass. And it is now free to travel, for the last couple.of years it's cost us 1€ return to ibiza. yippee.
Arm is so painful now but I can still do most things.
Mr N has signed for 10 pin bowling in ibiza Thursday night. I am just going to stay in the warm at home cos there's no way I could lift a ball let alone chuck it!
