smelly carpet shampooer
I have a bissell carpet shampooer which is absolutely the bees knees. It is easy to use and really gets my filthy dog-defiled carpets clean again. The only trouble is that while I do clean it after use and let it dry in the air before putting it away, it is beginning to smell, I guess because some dirty water is always left inside it somewhere. has anyone else had this problem and found a solution to it please?
TIA

That said... I've just had an invitation to a christening in a little church on a hill above a bay in Montenegro. This was from a scoundrelly former work colleague, who dumped his wife and (20-year-old) child after he retired, took up with a wealthy lady from Oxfordshire, and is now beginning an entire new life with her in the Balkans.
Obviously I sort of disapprove of the blackguard... but I can't help some sneaking admiration for someone grasping his Third Age with such enthusiasm.
I won't be going, it clashes with the jubilee, and I know where my duty lies.

Shaney sorry about your poor friend. No wonder you feel in the dumps.
Back home now. Skirt got shorter and shorter the longer I sat down. Silly me, painted my toes a bright red before going out, then put on flatties to get to the hotel, of course the toenail were peeling and I put tissue over them to protect them, then got tissue stuck on the nails so looked a fright wearing peep toed high heels, had to change in the end and put my flatties on.
The hotel was filming 4 weddings and had forgotten our booking, so we had to make do with sandwiches, all made by the receptionist who was so busy. What a fiasco, but we enjoyed it and drank champagne to the happy cocuple of 50 yrs ago. Couldn't change hotels are we had bro in law in his wheelchair.

Bless you all . Last time we spoke she was full of aches and pains but they kept fobbing her off with painkillers .The pain was worse in her upper back which should have told them them she needed looking at .It wasn't until she fell over badly at home and was finding she couldn't keep any food down that they took her into hospital and gave her a scan .
She's in the St Helier ,the worst hospital in Surrey ! Her daughter is hoping she can come home and then it'll be palliative care. I hope it's quick for her .

That dress was £5 in Primark, well I'll never wear it again!
I was my elder bro's bridesmaid when I was 16, he didn't want me, (not posh enough or well behaved!) but mum put her foot down (for once on my side!) and I was very elegant. The second time was to middle bro and was also very well behaved. This is the one we are celebrating!

Oh St Hellier, frightmare! I had an op there ( an pylonaidal sinus, in my groin - due to being waxed) in 1978, my m-i-l worked for a private surgeon so we paid him £50 and I was in St Helier in the blink of an eye, the op went ok and out I came. My sister also had a belly button hernia removed in St Hellier, she was in a 4 bed mixed ward and there was as prisoner in there with guards, well needless to say we had a hoot. I would hate to be in a mixed ward!
