looks like you were, but seems to be normal for a given value of normal today. Its a lovely cool morning here, i have got a pan load of chopped up belly pork slow roasting to make crunchy super treats for the boys and have just had a banana yoghurt with chocolate coated cornflakes (Muller) as my treat for getting up early and taking them out leaving DH to snore in bed...going out for the papers now.
Morning woofy all ok? Maybe early is the best time to get on here. Hot and sticky here still. was very overcast and dull yesterday but no storm and all clear today.

Morning all!

My sister has started her radiotherapy in Brighton ( must warn her to steer clear of the ole hippy), seems to be going ok.

yes swedie out friend in stockholm did rather evoke images of you lurking round corners in a raincoat and trilby hat and dark glasses. !!
shaney hope you are feeling better, all it sounds rather too dreadful! Poor thing.

Anyway, I love the opening shots of Kingdom, that coastline is so beautiful, is it anywhere near you. Fresh and uncluttered.
oh goodie, we seem to be staying ok. All going fine here Neti, yes that coastline in KIngdom is beautiful isn't it. They used it in Shakespeare in love for Miranda's island....I love Norfolk, we are planning to move there but the current property market circs are delaying things rather.
No Kit, to answer your question from a million years ago, no substances were used in the making of my eidetic images. They were in full colour and played like short video clips, the same bit repeated.
oh, are we open for business again? I assumed the AB basement had been flooded and the crocs were getting in. Yes, I saw the Pearl Earring, shaney, and I thought Colin Firth was all wrong. He looked far too Byronic. I've always thought from Vermeer's paintings that he'd have been far more like a chartered accountant, carefully attending to every little detail, not someone behaving like a rock god. Maybe Anthony Hopkins at his most repressed - imagine someone like him suddenly realising he fancied Scarlett Johansson and wondering what he ought to be doing about it.
Are we running on gas now ? Or are they still stoking the AB boilers with coal.
Just back from the hospital and my scan was clear .No clots thank goodness so it's off to my GP again this afternoon to see what other concoction he can give me to clear this up .Something like a big axe to chop the bggr off if I have to put up with much more of it :)

Kingdom is filmed in north Norfolk Neti .The opening shots are at Holkham and Wells next the Sea and the fictional town of Market Shipborough is Swaffham .
We are downalong on the east coast ( where the north wind doth blow ) .It's about forty miles away from me via the coast road .

Yes I suppose it's difficult to cast someone in a role where you have no idea of what the person looked like Jno .I must say I kept expecting him to strip off a la Mr Darcy :) Although they reckon that painting of artist at an easel doing a painting is supposed to be a self portrait and although he has his back to us his hair was quite long.
Hope you are all well ,raining on and off here .Long hot summer ....bah .
Ouch have just been stung by a bee, twas on the washing. I've got the stinger out but there were no barbs and can't see anything left in skin, I put vinegar on it and cold peas and it's throbbing. Is there anything else I should do, don want to suddenly go into anapalatic(!) shock.
Thumping with my fat finger my blue bar at the bottom of computer screen has gone sideways, how can I get it back to the bottom please?
Hi All at last we're all back and noving a bit quicker now. I was quite worried for a bit as my emails probably showed.
Pleased your scan was ok Shaney and hope like you say your Dr. can come up with something better to help it clear up altogether. Keep your chin up.

And a bee sting Netii I've no idea what you have to do. The only thing I can think of is antiseptic cream of some sort. Hope it eases off soon.

The weather here isn't too bad no rain as yet and got all my towels washed and out blowing in the breeze.

The bin men are rattling around at the mo. It's black bin day today. We have quite a good service round here. Next week it's blue and brown bins and papers collection.

I'm gettijng a bit excited now as I am going down South to see my eldest 3 weeks on Monday. We speak every weekend but it's not the same as seeing him.

Off for a coffee now
Take care All and have a good day. x

Hellooo..is we in or is we ain't? Still slow for me...
I gave up yesterday although, shock! horror! I managed to get on the site while it was closed down. It was really spooky (last post had been 3hrs previously) & I walked down the deserted corridors & poked around...oooh, you wouldn't believe some of the stuff they leave lying around....I tried to leave a 'Robi woz 'ere' but it wouldn't let me.

That's good news shaney...hope you'll be doing the knees up again very soon!

<<thwacks jno>> that's for saying Colin Firth was wrong...tut...how could HE ever be wrong?...haha, I know what you mean but between creating masterpieces & umpteen ankle snappers would there have been much time for looking neat? erm...not sure what my excuse is

(pt 2...grrrr...had to break it in half - good job I did it it on notepad...)

ooh, neti it's not a good idea to put vinegar on stings, might make it worse...best just to keep the cold pack around it I think & then some soothing antiseptic..oh, if you can take them ibuprofen might help (or paracetemol)

I had to laugh Jude I read your post a bit too quickly & I thought you were getting excited about the bin collection...day-glo vests have that effect on me too....hahahah...
Panic yea not - finger all normal and no pain. Just been out for lunch with Mr N at the marina - very nice! Off to bedroom with Air con to watch something or other before I fall asleep.

Laters!
neti, isn't it the second sting that does the damage? The first just sensitises you. Anyway, that's what happened to me with the last lot of alien death bugs: first one no problem, second one, arm swollen like a balloon. Keep away from bees for a while if you can.
that's a myth isn't it?
If not I'm doomed! I've only ever had one wasp one bee sting...

<<swipes at jno with fly swat>>

teehee, not your day is it?

Hello biddybuddies (stealing your expression Jude. Anyone want any potted plants? I've got a fake bamboo that's getting too big for me to be able to bring it into the bathroom for a shower. Been struggling with that today, ended up with me having the shower:O Can't believe the plant was 2-3 inches high when I got it. I'm beginning to suspect it eats small animals.

My dad has had another heart attack - his fourth or fifth - and us not being in each other's lives doesn't help at all, I'm shook up anyway. It's not a tiff and I don't want a reunion but it's still upsetting to know what he's going through. He's got his wife and at the moment both my half-sisters are in the same town so he's okay company-wise.

There's a story my dad tells about when he had his first heart attack/operation and one night at the hospital he had a dream where he went to the window and saw his room mate (at the hospital) get into a long, white limousine driven by an elegant chauffeur also dressed in white. His room mate was waving at dad for him to come too and he had half a mind to go but then he noticed that the chauffeur - who was holding the door open for dad's room mate - had hoofs...

Oh and the room mate died.
Apparently had a bee sting in my ear when I was about 4yrs old and I remember a lot of doctors and fuss but that was it. Blimey I dozed for 5 hrs, I blame the bee sting, but Mr N wasn't too worried. I would have been poking him to see if he was still living!
no, I think it's true, Robinia: sensitising dose/shocking dose

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anaphylaxis#Cause s

Nothing like that bad when it happened to me, but I had to take a couple of days off work. I don't suppose the sensitisation (is that a word?) lasts forever, but staying away from stings for a few days might be a good idea.

Top dream, Kit.
Morning... triffic jno, thanks very much... stick 'em up messenger ...
as if pig flu isn't enough to be worrying about, tut, (I have it on good authority that it's rife int midlands).

Oh spooky dream Kit...I dream regularly but oddly enough I don't think I ever did when I was in hospital...some pretty amazing hallucinations when I was awke tho' :o/

Has somebody spiked my sanatogen? I'm soooo sleepy & I've got sore eyes & itch all over but it's probably just hayfever...nbd.

Snap Robi , I could sleep for England (or Spain for that matter) right now: Dreams? No surprise that I dreamed of bees last night, but all seems ok today. Have put too much lemon juice in my gazpacho, and it's not so nice as usual.
Robi was Corrie on on Wednesday or has it now changed to Thurs as advertised as I'm missing one or two of this week's episodes.
