I Wonder Why This Number Is Rising So...

I've sent the care home an email asking if I can change my days as my new job days were only available Monday yo Wednesday. What do I do they haven't replied to my email.
i don't know ... ifi had to guess it's because you don't seem have much of a work ethic and someone is enabling to to carry on being feckless by giving you money/paying for your rent/food. It totally allows you to drift thru life leaving jobs because they are 'tiring' (even tho only part time) or too far away or don't suit you because heaven forbid they interfere with your social life
Most people have an imperative to work because they have to pay rent, pay to eat, pay for other bills. You dont seem to have that
Hi Abbey, I am confused because you say you have agreed to start a new job on Monday 20th Nov (then working Tues and Wed there) BUT also Care home will be expecting you in 8 till 11 on Monday 20th Nov (and Wed 22nd Nov). If people like yourself resogn or give notice that tends to mean working a fews more weeks at that same place (ie care home) before being allowed to leave. Are you still on probation at care home so are allowed to leave without notice immediately? This would make it easier for you to start your new Monday to Wednesday job.
Abbey- you asked why you were considered unreliable. Can you tell us an employer who would say you were reliable and good in the role? The company where you failed the probation? The care home who slashed your hours by 70% as they weren't happy with you and now your considering reneging on notice Home bargains where after 2 or 3 weeks you took unpaid leave then quit? Your new employer where before you start you're thinking of changing start date and shifts?⁸
Abbey I am unsure you know difference between giving notice/ working your notice and just telling company you not coming in anymore. Giving notice tends to mean still working for a few more weeks or months at the same company to give them chance to replace you. Not many of us can just not turn up at a job and say we have left. It doesn't work like that.
If you are still on probationary period at the care home I think you can leave without giving them any notice time (of course you would still need to tell them or let them know via email or letter that you ate leaving though) But if you are under a contract now with care home and have to give 2 weeks or a months notice - do you know what this means?
It means you have to officially tell the care home you would like to leave and that you agree to continue to work there for another 2 weeks or 1 month notice period.
I am just not sure how you can turn up at care home Monday 20th and also be at your new job on Monday 20th - who are now also expecting you.
If you have to give notice to the care home this means that you then agree to continue to work there Mon Wed Fri until you have completed your 'notice' period which could be 2 weeks or 1 month.
This is going to cause problems if you assume you are able to start at new job on Monday at cleaning company.
You will end up on payroll at both jobs at same time. You need to sort this out.
Find out if you are required to work fir a few weeks notice at the care home or if they agree to just let you go. If not try to change new job to the Tuesday Thursday option until you are released from care home job.
You got to deal with this as sticking head in sand and avoiding it won't make this go away or sort the situation out.
Hope you get sorted out and wish you the best xx
