Cocktail Drinkers, Are They Imbibing...

I've sent the care home an email asking if I can change my days as my new job days were only available Monday yo Wednesday. What do I do they haven't replied to my email.
So have you called care home and made yourself clear that sadly you are only now available to continue with your Friday shift fir them.
I hope the care home are now aware not to expect you for work on Monday.
As I said previously this simple polite call could sort a lot of issues out.
They would of course then have opportunity to say that they would have to let you go, but may instead accept your thoughtfulness at being upfront and keep Friday plus offer extra shift days when you may he available in future.
If you change your days, someone else will need to cover those hours and if you resign, someone else will need to cover them.
The employer might need to employ someone else if you resign and that will take time to organize.
Giving proper notice gives the employer time to re-jig duties.
It is not straightforward.
The manager not in and supervisor on her lunch.
This is what I got from a careers advisor.
Based on the amount of hours being offered at the care home against the amount of hours with the cleaning role, obviously the cleaning role is going to pay you more.
In relation to the care home not being able to offer you any work Thursday / Friday that is something that is outside of your control but I would still try to engage in a conversation with them to say that if I did leave for the cleaning role which is more hours than you can currently offer me would you consider me for anything on a Thursday / Friday if or when there is availability.
Sorry I cant be of more help but ultimately you have to look after your interests and the option that best suits you, if the care home does not work out I am sure that there are other care homes out there who will have some opportunities that meet your needs
