RIP Maggie..............definitely a great Briton.
MM shame on you.
Not at all madmen, but in this case it just means you have been brainwashed by left wing teachers. You have no direct experience of what the country was like pre MrsT and as such would have no idea of the context. So your opinions are not valid if they are just regergitations of your brainwashing rather than direct knowledge and insight. They merely domonstrate how easily you have been manipulated.
RIP Lady Thatcher - greatest peace-time Prime Minister and saviour of our country from the ravages of the left and unions.
When England was the *** of the world
Margaret was her madam
MadMen, just how old were you in 1979? And in 1990? What are your personal memories of Mrs Thatcher's governments, as distinct from what you were told was bad about them? I suspect you won't remember free school milk, which she abolished before she was PM, so you won't have noticed that. So what did you notice ?
A very sad loss for Britain and British politics. A truly great and inspirational leader.
Private messages of sympathy from HRH.
A ceremonial funeral with military honours will be conducted at St. Paul's Cathedral.
Such reverence reserved for and befitting a truly Great Briton.

^ She actually abolished the free school milk as a compromise in exchange for keeping libraries freely available (which could very well have been ended too if she hadn't have fought it):

Out of interest FredP if MM were weeping and wailing over maggie's demise would you care how old she was? Funnily enough I haven't seen any of the 'rip maggie' posters being asked to quantify their answers by providing their age. Just a thought.
Yes sara they are the direct result of brainwasing by lefty teachers who hated the fact that MrsT exposed their flawed thinking. They hated her because even they knew she was correct. I feel sad that so many people in their 30's have been effected this way.
Her policies had a DIRECT effect on my family, therefore I am "well informed" enough to have an opinion on her.

That's because Missnemesis they would almost all have known the state of the patient at the time of the adminstering of the harsh medicine. Rather than have theopinions of others spoon fed to them by those that could/would not see beyond their own selfish ideals.
MissN - it's just down to keeping your gob shut on the day someone has died. Have a little bit of respect.
i remember all too well before she came to power, we were held to ransom by the unions, sick man of Europe tag was levelled at us, she may not be every one's idea of a good PM, but they are far and few between from all parties. RIP Mrs T.

I'm not the one basing my political opinions on data that was spoon fed to me by partisan relatives on a period that I was not even alive in. Who's the idiot?
-answer removed- is the idiot :-)
Whenever anyone dies there is someone who mourns them and suffers because of their death so my thoughts are with her family and friends. I think in many ways she was a great leader, strong, unwavering and certain of the direction she wanted to take. That doesn't mean I have to agree with her politics, I don't, or mourn her personally because from what I gather she did a huge degree of harm to the country and it's inhabitants. I don't doubt though she thought she was doing the right thing and I don't think now is the time to be slagging her off, there will be plenty of time for that later on for those that want an historical political debate, where her family will not potentially read distressing gloating about her death.
