as far as animal rights protesters go, the outcry is going to be the same and is for the same reason.
The overall volume of the outcry might, however, be somewhat less because it does not fit the 'Muslims do baaaaaad things' agenda of the type of people who leapt onto the previous story with glee, last time.
I think that is the point you are trying to make.
Meanwhile, there are memes circulating on Twitter where it is cats and dogs being slaughtered for meat and leather in China and the far east. If you buy soft leather goods from that part of the world, it's probably pooch, not sheep/goat/cow.
There is cruelty to animals worldwide but do we prioritise activism in order of how distressing we find each problem area or do we fix what is on our own doorstep first and work on persuading the far east to follow our lead later?
