This isn’t solely about homophobia and the discussion shouldn’t be confined to that issue. The fact is, whoever his victims were, 50 of them are dead. This madman was on FBI radar not because he was homophobic but because he was suspected, rightly as it turns out, to have had links to Islamic extremists.

This is all about the slaughter of gay people. It was his driving mechanism. The only verified statement we have thus far is that he hated the sight of two men kissing, and then weeks later he went out and executed as many gay men as he could.

Let's not get hung up on semantics.

There are groups of people who absolutely despise gay people around the world and they mete out their punishment with (in escalating order) words, anti-gay laws, beatings, jail, pipe bombs (remember Soho) and now mass murder.

The only common denominator is hatred, not political or religious affiliation.

How can you not see this?

I don't want to prolong this somewhat circular and vacuous discussion but this terrorist could have gone anywhere else in Orlando and committed the atrocities, but instead chose to murder people in a gay nightclub.
