Can't believe that fear, greed, and a xenophobia, that has NO place in the 21st century, has triumphed. I'm sorry England, but you need to hang your collective heads in utter shame. Roll on the next Scottish referendum.

Sorry, but get a life.

Nothing like a sore loser.
Oh dear. :o)
so not entirely happy with the result then Maggie? That's ok because JimmyK will have another vote on leaving the UK then you'll be out of the UK and the EU!
Ridiculous Maggie, why hang heads in shame. People voted what they consider is right for our own country, not to be dictated to by an unelected federal parliament. I see a lot of Scotland voted remain, was that in the hope of getting their own referendum under a federal government?
A bit harsh.
Yes, I'm disappointed but as the votes in our family were equally split the sum total of happiness where it matters hasn't changed, so i'm ready to move on. I am not sure the Scots will rush into a referendum unless they accept the rule about new entrants having to accept the Euro (and possibly Schengen too?).
I'm glad you can't believe because you are right, fear, greed, and a xenophobia, that has NO place in the 21st century, has not triumphed.

Except for the bit that the English should be ashamed for not fearful like some areas, nor greedy not xenophobic. I don't understand why you think that would be preferable.

Nor indeed why you would want yet another referendum after not getting your own way on an issue, especially after already realising that breaking up the UK would be a bad idea in the previous referendum.
... not being fearful...
sigh
..nor xenophobic...
sigh
what was the real reason why the out vote won?
Maggie ....16,141,241 people didn't vote to leave the EU, so its not quite as bad as you say. At least we got rid of Farage yesterday !
Start with the 'greed' what do you mean by that?
We had a helping hand, maggie. ;)

I have never fully understood, maggie, why so many in Scotland want to be independent from the rest of the UK but want to be in the EU
OG....I think its inevitable that Scotland will have a second Referendum in the near future. The Scots voted firmly to STAY in the EU yesterday, so I can't see that they can be dragooned into leaving.
oh ff, are you joking?
maggie - I'm holding my head up the sun and SMILING. Great day for Btritain !
" Roll on the next Scottish referendum. "

Indeed :-)
They wouldn't be dragooned anywhere. They are part of a nation that voted out, it would be a collective embarrassment to then say, "We didn't get our way in this area, we're not playing any more." But it's their image to the world to do what they want with.
>oh ff, are you joking?

I'm not very good at that but do try sometimes. Which post are you referring to?
