I have just remembered this. It was written by Charles Sykes and used by Bill Gates in a speech to graduates in the USA a number of years ago. RULE 1 Life is not fair - get used to it. RULE 2 The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself. RULE 3 You will NOT make 40 thousand dollars a...

//TTT - maybe costs will be higher if we import from somewhere other than than the EU? //
Not so, the Japanese and Koreans can build and transport cars to the UK cheaper than France or Germany, without the crippling EUSSR protectionist tariffs. Now ask about TVs Washing Machines, etc. etc. Did you know that the EUSSR zoned areas of productivity for consumer goods many years ago? White goods, righto Turin that's yours. Steel, ahh we keep that in Germany with a bit for France, and so on, and so on.

This is from a House of Commons briefing paper, "In 2015, the UK exported £223 billion of goods and services to other EU member states.
This is equivalent to 43.7% of total UK exports. Goods and services imports from the EU
were worth £291 billion (53.1% of the total) in 2015. The UK had a trade deficit of £68
billion with the EU in 2015 but a surplus of £31 billion with non-EU countries."
Hardly supporting TTT's argument.

a lot of them are made here and would be prone to import taxes into the the brave new world. No, we have shot ourselves in the foot......
Let the cases build and be fully costed (properly so) with the negotiations for a Brexit, a compromise position and perhaps even a Nordic bloc if politics in the EU takes things that way.....and then the Brits should have a referendum, the new PM posting this as part of their election strategy. Take the time over A50 to build our negotiation position and see what happens in the EU as to other potential referendums and the French shafting themselves economically......

JIM360 " In the long run, we have to make this future work, but there's no obligation to be happy about it." You agree then that we must make this future work and when it's up and running will you continue to be unhappy about it?
A strange way to look at life," I've helped to make something better but still want to be miserable".

I haven't read any other answers as yet. No, they don't seem to understand Democracy. They need their bottoms smacking! (Light-hearted comment for those who will pull me up.)
We have seriously spoiled the young. I call it the 'Selfie' generation - all they think about is themselves and how they appear! We are reaping the whirlwind. So - they need checking. Hopefully this will happen by ignoring them and letting their tantrum run its course. If they carry on then it has to be the 'smacked bottom'. - water cannons, tear-gas etc. Very sad day, I thought we'd taught them about Democracy. :(
PS I don't include all under 25's in this - many were raised properly.
