Whether or not anybody is ideologically committed to Brexit or not and to what degree is not really the point. This deal involves the UK leaving the EU in name only. It also jeopardises the integrity of the UK and threatens to tie the UK to a Treaty from which there is no escape clause (depending solely on the goodwill of the Euromaniacs to "allow" no doubt under...

""...what I suppose I am asking is whether or not you think it worth taking this deal if it at least gets you closer to leaving the EU than remaining would." - as per the judge it it doesn't get us closer, it gets us BRINO. There's no point in leaving and giving up what tiny say we did have if we are still under the control of the EUSSR.
We have a population of about 65m consumers, and are world leaders in just about everything. So why would we fear WTO rules, especially when the Commission are so hobbled to a failed ideology?
Why indeed, Theland?

The notion that a "No Deal" exit is akin to shooting ourselves (not just in the foot, but to death, it seems) is laughable. Much of the world's trade is done on WTO terms and nobody dies as a result. It's what many "normal" countries do and they do so with non-EU countries (areas where I trade is expanding, in contrast to the shrinking EU). But so spineless and lacking in confidence and vision are our leaders that they seem to think we can only survive if tied to Nanny EU's apron strings. It's utterly pathetic.
What about the increase in tariffs which are immediately applicable under WTO rules?
works both ways ZM.
In what way?
are you for real? EUSSR exports to us incur the same charge as our exports to them. Which helps no one, which is why it won't happen, even if we leave with no deal. 5 mins after brexit when the politicians are out of it business will get involved and sort it. The last think the Germans/French want is 20% on all their jam jars for example. I'll fetch the jelly whilst I wait for you next piece of cryptography shall I?
Entry the Common Market hiked the price of butter, sugar and lamb because the price of trading freely in the EC was making imports from all countries outside it more - and in some cases very much more - expensive.
The EU is a protection area. We lose some benefits by leaving the club; by the same token we gain the benefits of cheaper world prices (the "Brexit dividend").
Why do you have to resort to jibes? I’m asking a sensible question in a reasonable manner.

‘EUSSR exports to us incur the same charge as our exports to them’
That will end with WTO rules. Our politicians or businesses won’t be able to do a thing about the tariffs which WTO rules will immediately impose.
I said that at 22:56 in response to your enquiry at 22:52. Have you suddenly realised that it works both ways? If you continually issue obtuse gaslighting responses do not be surprised if the response is terse.
so WTO rules only apply to us then? right oh!
Tell you what. I’ll wait until NJ is around.
‘EUSSR exports to us incur the same charge as our exports to them’
That will end with WTO rules. I am referring to WTO rules should we find ourselves in that game. Surely you can see that both sides will have to pay a charge? Not just UK? if not explain why the EUSSR is exempt from WTO rules.
Tell me where I said WTO rules only apply to us.
23:14 ‘EUSSR exports to us incur the same charge as our exports to them’That will end with WTO rules.
if you don't think it what have the posts since 22:52 been about?
anyway don't bother answering I'm sick of your gaslighting.
I appreciate Tarrfis work both ways but we don’t always export the same things as we import, so there would be some imbalance in the loss and gain.
How will a 23% tarrif on agricultural products affect farmers and their produce?
who cares, how will 20% on French/German motors go down?
