The Daily Telegraph reports that Keir Starmer is chairing a Cobra meeting tonight but is coming in for criticism for his poor handing of the on-going riots. Should he recall Parliament?

Yes, SP, and that false information was that the perpetrator was Muslim and had arrived by boat from Calais. You and I have had this conversation for years - culture verus colour. There should never be an issue with colour - it's a nonsense but it happens because some people are unthinking morons who can't see further than their nose. However, in my opinion, with the rise of Islam people of all colours should now be considering what that means for them - and then decide which side of the fence they're perched on.
Frankly that's culture vs colour a bogus argument, because if you say "I hate everything about Jamican culture, but not Jamaicans themselves", you're fooling no-one.
Cultural identity and race are inextricably linked.
In the 70s my parents and my firends (we lived near Bermondsey) had to deal with scum like we're seeing on the streets now. They cared no a jot about culture vs. colour. They didn't (and do not) see the nuance - if you were black or brown, that was it...Christian Africans / West Indians, Hindus from India and Muslims from Pakistan...all the same. And listen to the chants now. Nothing's changed. The hatred is not for Islam. It's for all immigrants who don't pass the melanin test.
i am confused clone said last night (rather rudely)
"Also, the riots are due to a tweet that stated the murderer of those little girls in Southport was a muslim and or an illegal immigrant.
Therefore, the first riot started
Has an infant got old of your phone?"
but other people are saying that that is true.

Also, do you think there's a difference between ordinary people and the far right? Politically, you're on the right aren't you? If I were to list the right wingers on the AnswerBank, you'd be right up there - but I wouldn't go as far as calling you far right?
Has anyone ever tarred you with that brush?
What you see on the streets at the moment..don't you think there's a world of difference between normal people raising concerns about immigration and those who daub themselves with Swastikas, and take to the street burning cars and attacking the police?
Morons may call regular folk far right, but the antidote to that would be for normal people to disassociate themselves from the far right thugs and morons we're seeing taking to the streets.
Would you agree?
SP, //Cultural identity and race are inextricably linked.//
Indeed - but the point is with the rise of Islam culture is under threat - yours and mine - which, if we have any sense at all, puts us on the same side. Islam doesn't see colour - it comes in all flavours and sees only culture - Islamic culture. Anything else is surplus to requirements. Can you not see that?

Who were the people who were demonstrating against the recent violence. Were they normal general public or the usual left wing anti facist brigade who are also not averse to a bit of violence themselves.
I literally don't have a clue what you're getting at. I've read that post three times too.
sp; It's not for me to self-identify, 'far-right is being bandied about everywhere along with names like 'fascist'.
I simply say that I agree with what brainiac said above about Islamification and immigration & if that makes me in someone's eyes far-right so be it.
The accusation would anyway in me produce more of a yawn than a tear.
You naomi24. You have said in the past that you have no issue with black people, just black culture, hence your comment today:
You and I have had this conversation for years - culture verus colour. There should never be an issue with colour
My point is that I could never be on the "same side" as someone who holds those views.
