Gordie...go and see your GP. Please don't worry, there is no way you will be sent to the hospital.Talk to him/her,....they'll be quite used to patients having thoughts like those you describe.
Ring the Samaritans.
Have you eaten or drunk anything which might have triggered chemical changes in your brain?

If not, then might it be 'life events'?

Something has triggered this and I am hoping that working out what it is might take your mind off the thoughts and also help to avoid re-triggering them in the future.

What's the fear with regard to hospital and/or treatment?

Have you been drinking lots of caffeine filled drinks? That would speed up your brain.

The fact that you are talking about this on here is a good sign. Bottling all the thoughts up doesn't work.

Go see your GP, it's your best place to ask for help.

Hi gordie, you were given antidepressants which you stopped taking? I think maybe you should carry on with them.
Talk is the first step, so well done!
a wee word with GP gordie xx
What's happened in your life, has there been a family Death? are you in Debt? are you in loss of confidence? do drink too much? you need to see your GP, they are the people that known you, & know your history Gordie, all on here at time's have troubles, you are not on your own, it is too easy to take the suicide action, take advice, talk if you can to your family / GP, Best of Luck.
TWR....I gather you haven't read Gordie's threads.

Gordie...see your GP.
I've read it Ummmm x
Gordie, your posts show a long term problem with depression , anxiety and paranoia. This is part of the same thing. You need urgent help from your GP who should refer you to the mental health team. Go and see your GP explain everything and ask for help.
And they won't section you.
I agree with what ummm says,....I promise you they won't.

Yes, There no chance of them putting you in Hospital, but you do need help urgently. You can't get that help unless you ask for it and that means seeing your GP.
You may think of them all the time maybe - but you know yourself you will never act on them. You have too much to live for - and you wouldn't want to hurt your family.

gordiescotland1 - I know you get also maybe diazepam is it - or you got it for going to the dentist. I know for a fact they make you very depressed so maybe getting off them may help you. Hope it does.
Gordie, you certainly won't be admitted to hospital if you speak to your GP. He is there to help and it may be that a course of anti depressants may be in order (or not). Please speak to someone about your feelings - if you feel you can't share with family or friends, please give the Samaritans a ring. They are totally confidential and won't judge you. It really is good to talk. Good luck.
do you realise how difficult it is to get admitted to hospital for psychological reasons ?

go and see your GP - if you are not on medications - then it is possible you should be...
As has been said, you must talk to your GP first. They will refer you to the Mental Health team where you will be assigned a counsellor who you will see on a regular basis to monitor your progress. You can usually choose if you specifically want a male or female counsellor.
Antidepressants are renowned for side effects, especially nausea and headaches. They can also make you feel more depressed for a week or two, but this is normal. Please make sure you read the enclosed leaflet so that you know what to expect and can report to your GP anything not listed. If the side effects are too awful, your GP will find one more agreeable to you. There are lots to choose from!
Diazepam is also known as Valium and is usually given to depressed people to help to make them sleep, as Wolf and I know that insomnia often goes hand in hand with depression.
Whatever you choose to do, well done for being able to talk on here. If it helps, come back regularly and tell us of your progress. There is usually someone about, even in the early hours if you need to chat.
