Once more I step into the breech, as her Ladyship is entertaining the Dowager aunt. I feel after the strenuous and brain testing evening of the AB quiz (who won again, do remind me!) We will not have a guest speaker as such, rather any member with an interesting hobby or topic, may give us a small speech.
Later there will be some dancing on the terrace, however due to the age and delicate nature of some members there will be little in the way of Disco or Rock (unless requested) but music of a more sedate and maybe a little smoochy in tempo.
For the raffle, I donate
3 Corn plasters (washed)
Jar of Vicks vapour rub
5 Strepsils (Blackcurrant)
So settle in and make yourselves comfy, Tailcocks and nibbles are in the long hall on the buffet sideboard.
Hello anne - nice to see you here. No indeedy not, I came in the Wine Merchants delivery van. I thought that tonight being a special occasion I would forgo the honour of bringing raffle prizes (I never win anyway) but I have splashed my winter fuel allowance in advance and brought cases of champagne so that we may toast ourselves tonight in true fashion. ladya is going to be so upset she has missed this I know, but she may have a cork as a memento
Ooooh - those flowers are for me? How absolutely charming - I assume you mean alex Matron? I am so pleased his sister is improving well. Music to look forward to - it is going to be a great evening and I shall buy some raffle tickets!
its the least you could do ttfn, seeing as you didnt bring any ruffle prized, youd think you had something to be happy about,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,great news.
Cheers anne - very kind I am sure. But that was my point you see <<suppose the ruffle is fixed?>> This way all of my chums here tonight get to have something extra. (There are enough bottles for each of you take 1 home with, even after we have supped all night.) Such is my delight, joyous nature and love for you all ♥
Hello dear alex, thank you for the flowers you are a true gent. I am so pleased we both have something to celebrate tonight. If 2 weeks in politics is a long time our mp's need to try a week in the manse;o)
Anne, for once in my life I am stone cold sober I do assure you - but not for long <eyes twinkle>. I hope we all have a very merry time - I don't even mind the residents from the home for the bewildered tonight - I left a crate of light ales at the bottom of their drive. Call me capricious or anything you like - I think I will answer to most things;o)
alex - flattery will get you as far as like tonight LOL. Petal - ta my dear, I am getting too old to do the crazy things I once did - have the asbos hanging in the potting shed to prove it. Mamya - keep singing with that lovely voice of yours <<tone deaf really but bless her anyway>>. Anne - I will remove the hairnet tonight TA DA, when all have suitably imbibed sufficient of the bubbly stuff.
