Theland, I did ask this question on the thread in News, but I think it deserves a separate discussion -

As a Christian I am assuming that you follow the belief that God has a 'plan' for each of us.

What do you believe is his 'plan' for the victims of the recently deceased paedophile who has been murdered in prison?

You are puzzled because you don't understand the bible which explains all and answers your questions.
I have answered but you don't like the answers.
Because Theland, he isn't looking for an answer, he's only interested in picking your beliefs apart. It's a game to him and he'll continue to pick as long as you keep entertaining him.

I am not 'puzzled' in the slightest, nor am I remotely surprised at your standard fallback position - that 'The Bible has all the answers ...'.

I didn't expect to receive an actual specific answer to an actual specific question, but that's how you roll on here every time you post or respond.

We can wind this up now, we each have what we expected from our exchange - you believe you have 'answered' my question, I believe you have avoided it completely, and talked down to me, as you always do.

You are mistaken on all counts - I am interested in a solid answer to a solid question, and I have not received one.

I regard my exchange with Theland as closed.
Thank you Mozz. I know what he is doing.
If he has a quick look at the 20th century, the bloodiest century in history, he will realise that the hearts of men are evil but we can choose to do good.
Germany - 1939 - An educated cultured nation, producing art, music, advances in science and philosophy, but capable of Austwich and mass industrialised murder.
That was the evil heart of men that did that.
AH, //I am interested in a solid answer to a solid question//

Your question isn't solid. It's flawed. You've been told by several people - Christians included - that there is no plan.
//You are mistaken on all counts - I am interested in a solid answer to a solid question, and I have not received one.//

I respectfully call shenanigans on that one. You admitted to me on the first page that the entire thread was a trap to bait TL into an argument. You ask a question that is impossible for anyone to answer definitively, and then continue digging when a less than definitive answer is offered. If you hadn't just called time on your participation on the thread, you could have continued going round in circles indefinitely.

Theland - // Thank you Mozz. I know what he is doing. //

Apparently you don't - what I am doing is asking a question, what you are doing is avoiding answering it.

Thank you Theland, I don't need a history lesson - but maybe you do, it's Auschwitz - you make it sound like a town in the Home Counties.

// That was the evil heart of men that did that. //

And your God lifted not one finger to help any single one of his 'flock'.

Mozz - // You admitted to me on the first page that the entire thread was a trap to bait TL into an argument. //

I did not say that I was 'trapping' Theland into anything - I simply asked him a question.

I fully expected a mixture of dissembling, preaching, patronising, avoidance, and general nonsense.

I was not disappointed.

Naomi - // You've been told by several people - Christians included - that there is no plan. //

That's interesting, because Theland, the person to whom the OP was addressed, said the exact opposite to what you are saying, in his very first contribution to the thread - here it is in case you missed it -

// Andy, God does indeed have a plan for each of us.
His plan is for each and every one of us is to follow Jesus Christ and become and become more like Him. //

Of course, it had nothing to do with actually asking the question I asked him, and he still hasn't addressed it except in wooly catch-all platitudes, but he did say there was a 'plan'.

Really, you religious experts need to get your acts together, contradicting each other all over the place - if I were a Christian I'd be really confused, but I'm not a Christian, I know the answer to my question -

There is no God, there is no 'plan' - horrible things happen because that is the way of the world.

It's far easier than agonising over why a 'loving' God allows children to be abused by paedophiles, and dodging the question when it is raised.
Andy - When my pension runs out should I expect God to put a few quid in my account?
When I am sick should God miraculously cure me?
With respect, you are playing mind games and it is obvious that you know little or nothing of the Bible.

Mozz - // Seriously Andy, you're laying bait down for an obvious argument and it's beneath you. //

I absolutely am, and I don't feel it is 'beneath me' in any way

Okay, not a trap as such, but your intent was to draw him into an argument. It's fine, I'm out of here, you two can do as you please. If Theland is fool enough to entertain your bs, it's nowt to do with me.
Andy - I am totally bored with this thread.
I too am out of here.
Too much lubb tish.

Theland - // Andy - When my pension runs out should I expect God to put a few quid in my account?

I don't believe in God - why ask me?

// With respect, you are playing mind games and it is obvious that you know little or nothing of the Bible. //

I asked you a simple question, you have danced around it for two days now, I am not 'playing' anything, and I freely admit I know little of the bible - again, why would I, it's your book to live by, not mine.

Actually, my intent was to get Theland to answer my question from the point of view of a devout Christian, I think 'argument' in an incorrect term, it implies conflict and I see only a difference in views, but no actual conflict as such.

Theland has done as he always does, dissembled, preached, patronised, and avoided - have a look at the 'Good News For Theland' thread - he is doing the same there, much to Naomi's endless frustration.

// If Theland is fool enough to entertain your bs, it's nowt to do with me. //

Fine, one man's 'bs' is another man's exhange of ideas.

You can walk away and avoid extending your minimal and unhelpful contributions to the thread any further.

Tut tut, how easily you are bored - or rather, thwarted by your inability to argue the case for your God.

He will be disappointed in you - but then, you tell us that he is anyway, so no surprise there.
//Actually, my intent was to get Theland to answer my question from the point of view of a devout Christian, I think 'argument' in an incorrect term, it implies conflict and I see only a difference in views, but no actual conflict as such.//

Then why agree that the thread was intended to invoke an argument?

//Theland has done as he always does, dissembled, preached, patronised, and avoided - have a look at the 'Good News For Theland' thread - he is doing the same there, much to Naomi's endless frustration.//

Even when he tells you that he doesn't believe there is such a plan, you keep pushing him for a different answer. He's not the chosen one. The Pope couldn't have answered your question. To answer it is to know the exact plans of God. Even the most devout Christian doesn't know that.

// If Theland is fool enough to entertain your bs, it's nowt to do with me. //

//Fine, one man's 'bs' is another man's exhange of ideas.

I'm sure you feel the same about anyone who calls you out. Have fun Chuckles.
Mozz, any debate can be called an "argument". Discussion about differences of opinions are what a lot of AB is about. Except for CB, maybe. It is fair to ask someone about their own beliefs. Theland will know why he believes what he does and should be quite capable of standing up for his own opinions.
AH, // if I were a Christian I'd be really confused//

No more than you are now. If you didn't understand Theland's answer - or mine - or anyone else's - try taking a breath.
Naomi, I say it as I see it. When this thread started up, I asked if it was to bait Theland into an argument, and AH said that it was. Not a discussion, an argument.

We're all here for discussion, but demanding an answer to an unanswerable question about faith is a bit much.
