Only the bible describes the state of the world as we head into the End Times.
Only the bible has verifiable prophecies that can be tested for truth.
Is it not time to take the bible seriously?

the letter in the Times today said: Bible Studies Dear Sir, Keith Elliott writes about the debate over the exclusive authority of the New Testament (credo letters). Christians believe that canonical scripture was established under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. That some books entered the canon 'by the skin of their teeth' is immaterial....

Naomi, Jesus broke the rules. Paul did indeed take it further, which would not have happened, I think, without Jesus and his reforming agenda. You have made a study of this, I haven't. I find Paul refreshing, but not always 100% 'follow without question'. I love 'Drink a little wine for thy stomach's sake'. :)
I get the impression that Paul was a bossy beggar, that's why he got stuff done. I don't like bossy beggars who get stuff done; I think they leave a wake of poor sids behnd them; poor sids who would prefer to lead a quiet life, especially the women, who tend to think that life is about feeding and nurturing, not killing each other over intellectual disagreements.
Jesus didn’t really have a reforming agenda, jourdain. He was first and foremost a Jew and I don’t believe for a moment he had any intention of founding a new religion. From what we read he may have been a bit more kindly than the run of the mill Jew towards fallen women, but he was quite unkind in other areas. I think he was a flesh and blood man born to flesh and blood parents - but rather a special man. The king of the Jews. Incidentally, I think he was married too.

Waiting for those who are nowhere near as nice as you, jourdain, to come along and tell me to wash
my mouth out. :o)
"Incidentally, I think he was married too."

For Jesus not to have been married would have been so unusual at the time that at least one of the gospels would surely have recorded it.
It would have been unheard of, Jim. I think Jesus was married at Cana.
You mean the site of the first "miracle" where, obviously, all that happened was that a few bottles / barrels of decent wine were saved till the end? Wouldn't that have been mentioned in the gospels as being Jesus' own wedding? And who do you think his bride was? Surely not Mary Magdalene...
Naomi, where do you get the idea that Jesus was married at Cana? It could be true, but you're treading on dangerous ground here; you seem to be reading things into the bibe that aren't there.

Oh blind people kill your pride and learn prayerfully from the One who can teach you all things.
Satan is having a ball on here with misdirection, lies, and pride.
Don't fall for it.
//Satan is having a ball on here with misdirection, lies, and pride//

Who let him do that then?
Question Author
Nai!it, you are far more interested in scoring points and getting approval from your fellow ABers than you are in learning the truth.
Enjoy your populism.
Theland, //learn prayerfully from the One who can teach you all things.//

And who would that be, Theland? You? You seem to be the only one around here telling everyone else what they should think.

Yes, Jim, I do think the site of the first ‘miracle’ - and yes, Mary Magdalene.

Atheist, // Naomi, where do you get the idea that Jesus was married at Cana? //

I did a ‘Miss Marple’ job on it. I’m not sure why you think that’s dangerous ground but if you don’t think the clues are there in the story you haven’t read it.
//Nai!it, you are far more interested in scoring points and getting approval from your fellow ABers //

I doubt that very much! .......
Getting back to the OP...

//Only the bible describes the state of the world as we head into the End Times//
No it doesnt.....plenty more sources predict much the same thing.

//Only the bible has verifiable prophecies that can be tested for truth//
No it doesnt. It just doesnt. Ive spent a lifetime studying this stuff and it just doesnt!
Stop lying (or decieving yourself)

Question Author
Nailit it's all about, and revolves around the Jews.
Doesn't it?
But of course you know this because you have read the bible three times!
Haven't you?
So the great invasions, enslaving the Jews, were all foretold and came true, right?
Of course, your other favourite prophets say that!
Don't they?
Oh no they don't!
Question Author
You've wasted your life!
//Nai!it, you are far more interested in scoring points //
//Enjoy your populism//

Doubt that I will Theland, given my views on the Covid Vaccine!
Anyway, more interested in 'scoring' truth points. Even if Im wrong.
(And Im certainly not popular on AB at the moment)
I still like you, nailit, old friend. x
Question Author
Then do yourself a favour and dismiss all of the soothsayers and stargazers.
Only the bible is true.
Theland, nothing wastes life more than dwelling on death as you do.
Question Author
I like you too.
