Avast Blocking My External Hard Drive

My Avast demanded to be updated yesterday, so I did. Now when I plug my external hard drive in (a little Maxell portable) nothing comes up and I can't back things up. I assume these two events are connected as there was no trouble till today.

Is there any way to tell Avast to permit it? Or of restoring the earlier Avast? (Though I assume the latter would be risky.)

(Please don't advise installing MSE instead as I had the same trouble with it in the past; that's why I installed Avast in the first place.)

quite a bit of squelchiness round here but I suppose that comes of having London clay somewhere underfoot.

My garden is on clay, dig down about foot to 18 inches and you can make pots with it. It used to be mined about 5 minutes down the road from me

Morning safely at home again now, peace and quiet. Shattered after 3 days and 3 nights of almost non stop dancing, singing boozing and eating, quite disgraceful behaviour for old women! Sisters argue like mad its awful and I'm stuck in the middle. Food was nice except for roast beef last night, was like shoe leather but as I never eat it maybe I just don't know. A lot, well most of the old women got the dress code wrong, they were all in rock N roll frou frou petticoats and big dresses, looked ridiculous too. Some youngsters got it right with either psychedelic tent dresses and white boots and hippie gear. great fun

Its shouldn’t be like shoeleather Neti. We are lolling here. Sis arrives tomorrow and I should have been cleaning but am absolutely knackered. She doesn’t get here till tomorrow evening so will fly round tomorrow

very chilly last night, I pulled another blanket up. I have put some exciting new Scottish ancestors into my family history and ordered a reprint. I may go out and do some shopping next. Isn't that interesting.

been hot and still and threatening here all afternoon but weather lifting Sis is getting a taxi because her coach was going to arrive massively early and I was still showering. They were late leaving at her end because the coach had broken down further up the line but made up too much time and arrived 40 minutes early here. Weird or what?

not surprised, neti, I took off the blanket last night and put on a heavier blanket. It's this blankey-blanket weather. Looks like it's going to rain across the whole country today.

Good morning. Went to see Sweet Charity last night performed excellently by my old school although they are about 50yrs younger than I am! Saw the old Head Girl who is 78 she's hardly changed. She remembered me Gawd! Hopefully off to Brighton by bus today via Beach Head and surrounding countryside. weather rather glum!

When I went to our school reunion there was an ancient teacher there.
She said ... Well I never. H,J and A ..I would have recognized you three anywhere.I said to her that we must be famous .Sharp as a tack she replied ..You were certainly famous when you were here....for standing outside the headmistress's door.

had dinner with old friends tonight. She's a little despondent because her cleaning lady has just sacked her :-(

Haha Jno.I used to do cleaning and sacked a client who had a big house in Wimbledon.She expected me to vac and polish acres of parquet floor,clean three bathrooms and a shower room,debug her filthy kitchen,vac and dust everywhere else and tackle a pile of ironing, all in two hours .
I got stuck in but couldn't' do it all in the time allotted.When I went back the following week it was rotten again .I don't think they had washed up for a week.So I left her a note saying that slavery had been abolished and I wouldn't be back!
Not a bad day here,breezy and sunny in parts.Hope you're all ok.

Brr what is this weather?? I just dont have the right clothes to wear, and won't wear sisters clothes a too old fashioned for me.
I was a cleaner too but they used to clean and tidy up before I went, it was still a stinking messs. Gave up as was pregnant and felt revolted!!

hello all. Sis has arrived but the weather has put paid to a lot of our outdoor plans....still its lovely having her here.

Brrr. We got soaked at a car boot sale, so we visited a nephew andbgis 3 kids and then came home for a picky lunch, and then we fell asleep. Am in sister's warm tracksuit. Hard to believe how hot it is back home.

Hi everyone, cold has finally arrived and I feel rough. Not looking forward to the heat in Spain but so want my own bed!! I fly back Tuesday afternoon. Bought a nice blk/white soft shirt from Tesco, but couldn't find a bra in a c cup anywhere, they were all huge dd or f or g !! Bought a toaster. 2 carboits were cancelled so I did normal shops. Tasted chocolate wine, it was rather nice!
