Jude that's good news, I'm pleased for you:)

Seeing as DJ Vinny isn't around much anymore I've arranged for another guy to fill his shoes - hope y'all don't mind. This other guy has largely the same taste in music - we'll hardly notice the difference - and he's preparing himself even as we speak. Ladies: Meet DJ Benny http://i46.tinypic.com/2ns6rdd.jpg

...you don't believe me?

It's true http://beta.thehindu....sic/article106820.ece
Hi There. It's been cold and wet tonight but what a cheer up I've had. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was brill. The Staging,, costumes, presentation and last but not least the Car was fantastic. A terrific musical. There were loads of children in and they were a fabulous audience. There was a youngster of about 4 years old and she kept us laughing with some of her comments. I thought Starlight Express was something special but this beat that for effects.
My Daughter in Law said we were not paying for anything as it was part of our Christmas present. We went for a meal first. I had penne pasta with tomatos and mozarella, watercress and garlic bread loverly.

Now something funny. Guess which plonker turned up at school this afto to do some reading with the kids. I get there and thought mmmm a bit quiet went in and there was the Head mistress in the office on her own. I said go on tell me it's half term why don't yer.and we had a laugh. So I went shopping instead. Ha Ha!!

Well I've had me Horlicks and I'm off to bed now see yer later 'gater(s) sleep tight.

Morning all - Carnival today, I may or may not go to see it. Sunny and a bit warmer now. Have finally cleaned out the grate, no more fire til Mr N chops up some more wood.

Jude, that happened here well sort off, in the early 70's when I was teaching Kindy/first grade, when the clocks went forward I was the only teacher to arrive on time, the rest trotted in an hour late as did the kids, well not many people had clocks or leccy for that matter.!!
true, neti, country folk can't be bothered with clocks, they still had to get up at dawn and milk the woolly mammoths and keep the sabre-tooth tigers out of the chicken run.

Fabulous carnival, much better than usual, and th star was this fab young man swinging his hios and dancing to I will survive and then it shouted Lynette (my real name), and it's the boy from next door who I nannied for a year and I see everyday, I was so surprised, he was great although I suspect he may now start to bat for the other side, as when I looked after him he was always wearing daughter's flamenco dress and saying he was a widow and then pulling dress up showing a leg!!! Ah well takes all sorts. Not at all chilly today 17ºC at 17.30 (damn it!!)
Pouring down all day here interspersed with bits of snow and and maintaining a steady real feel of minus 2 C Neti ! If I had any hios or whatever they are I would swing them at the nearest wall before I climb it :)
I'm so bored I made a cake and we had Mettwurst Pfannekuchen for dinner in the German Carnival tradition .
I'm going to an art exhibition in Norwich tomorrow even if it sloshes down .
Sounds as if you had a lovely time Jude .I turned up for work once at 7am when the clocks went forward :) Scores on the doors 18 xx
Take care all, chin chin for now .

Sorry to hear you're under par Woofie .
Lots of sleep and hot toddies for you .Hope you soon feel better .
Where's Dimmock of Derby ? I hope she hasn't gone down with something as well.

Morning all..
<waves sicknote>...Here I is, Dimwit of Derby. Apologies for my absence, had a massive sinus headache from Sunday night 'til last night, couldn't eat or sleep :o(...it's not surprising though, the barometer's dropped back further than it has all winter. Hope you feel better soon woofy.
Grey day today & they've given out a snow warning for today/tomorrow, deep joy, but I was shopping at 9.15...plenty of 'you're out early' comments, cheeky boogers, haha.

I had some sad news that didn't help either, my lovely neighbour died on Sunday. He was late 80's & had been ill but I'll miss having him there, as I did his wife.

I see ower Ray (Gosling) has caused a stir, he's been arrested now. I'm all for assisted dying (by doctors) and believe it will happen legally in this country one day... I'm wondering if he's ill himself.

Morning all - sorry shaney, didn't realise that I had typed hios, I thought it was a german word!!!!

Am trying to sort out daughter's wifi line as she asked for it to be moved and it hasn't arrived, and apparently some other chappie has it in his name and I'M BL**DY WELL PAYING FOR IT!!! I get so frustrated with the language cos yes I'm fluent but sometimes the technology of it bypasses me, so I put on my firmest voice and said not good enough sort it!(in spanish) ah si señora, este tarde!! Bullocks!!!
Afternoon possums. Completely agree about euthanasia. We would help even a hamster... Sorry 'bout your neighbour Robi. I've got a constantly "heightened ear" (??!) for sounds from my elderly neighbour's place, as he fell and broke his hip and called my name in the middle of the night a couple of years ago. He had managed to crawl to his door and get it open, so he was lying on the threshold. Another elderly neighbour was shouting help help help from inside his place as I walked by his door and as I spoke to him through the letterbox slot it turned out he was stuck in his bathtub...!

Jude which play was it you mentioned liking, by Pinter? Was it The Birthday Party? Cos it turns out I'm seeing that one in May! Not my choice but I come along for the joy of seeing my out of town friends, and as they travel all the way here I graciously accept their choice;-) But you liked it? / How you doing with the pigeons, when you're done shooting them you'd be most welcome to do some shooting over here too http://www.thelocal.se/24964/20100213/
oooh, the tasty Swedish bun on there looks good Kit...(hope you're feeling better btw)

....won't be long before those words have Vinny whooshing in
goodness, that Sweden sounds like a dodgy place

its funny isn't it this old harassment lark...not talking about bullying or abuse but general wandering hands and bra strap pinging. The only time it ever happened to me, it was a friend's sleazy boyfriend. When he turned away I gave him the mother of all wedgies, he was surprised and deffo not delighted....end of problem.
Cold is still with me, I have the hot shivers. DH has gone to spend the afternoon at the dentist and we are going to spend tomorrow feeling sorry for ourselves.

Get well soon robi and Woofy.

Dolly, hope Mr Dolly is improving and getting well. x

Am watching the Olympics Mens Skating.
I've got it all wrong about The Birthday Party by Pinter Kit. I think it was actually Abegail's Party and it was in 1977. Must be my age. I think Mike Leigh wrote and directed it. Alison Steadman was in it. I remember her very well, I hope you enjoy The Birthday Party now. I've been reading up about it and it sounds a bit odd.
The pigeons are still coming round as well Kit. I'll never get rid of them. But my Blackie and his wife keep coming every day. I haven't seen The robin for a while though.

Get well soon Robi. There's always summat isn't there. Sorry too about your neighbour.

I've been to meet a friend in town and went to The Babington for lunch. Very disappointing lunch but a good chat with my friend. We met at 11.30 and parted at 3.00 this afto. When we came out it was sleety snow so we dived into Westfield and went for a look round M & S.

Anyway I'm home now catching up with your posts.

Nobody ever harrassed me in 'that' way Woofy I was 8.1/2 stone wet through 5'6.1/2 tall and had no curves of any sort and like a latt !! I was like that until after I was 30 except for when I had my sons and then I only went up to about 10.1/2 stone. So in a way I'm quite pleased there was no harrassment.

No wonder I couldn't find it by Pinter! I love Abigail's Party, so good. I also love Alison Steadman!
