Evening biddies. I've been out doing some 'personal shopping' for a colleague of my sister's. Monday was my sister's birthday; I had sent her a necklace and her work mate liked it so much she just had to have one too:)

ONE glass of red wine and I can't think straight for five hours... I long for red wine all the time but I hardly ever drink nowadays as it's the rest of the evening down the drain - pathetic:( When you come to your senses again you're already sober...! What a waste ;-)

Funny you should mention harassment/the theatre, jno. The Cats case was a while ago but the subject as such has been brought to media attention recently by an op-ed written by a famous actress. He he he, I hope it was cats' poop - a cat would definitely sh1t in your shoes given half a chance. The only work place where I've received unwelcome attention was - yup you've guessed it - at the theatre. (When working as a director's assistant.) One of the actors would do things like press his thigh against mine when we were seated at a table, snap my coffee break apple from my hand and take a long, deep bite at it while looking at me intensely and so on and so forth. Problem was I found it difficult not to laugh...! I've never really wanted to have sex with food;-) That, and he was married to the director - and I absolutely despise adultery so even if I had been interested I wouldn't have been interested if you see what I mean. I'm imagining giving him a wedgie now Woofy, I can just see his face, he he he he he!

Yes, I was also often harrassed at work, had to change departments once which was such a shame as I loved the job, but once teaching then the kiddies loved me and that was fine!!!

Have just painted one wall in the hall as it was flaking off (Mt N decided to go to the village just at that point) so there I am struggling with a paintbrush, all the wall collapsing around me, so I added loads of water, much easier, and then decided to use my index finger to fill in all the lumps and bumps (we have a very old house), success, so much easier!!!

Cannot stand Red wine, makes me ill for days!!
splendid job of wall painting, Neti...

hmmm, that seems unsure of whether it's going to appear or not...
morning all...oh it's so tedious being a sex object intit? haha...I was 'harrassed' when I was young & fab by a much older man...except in those days 'sexual harrassment' hadn't been invented and neither had wedgies, more's the pity...love it woofy! Obviously I didn't like it but as young as I was I treated it with the complete indifference it deserved...there's no bigger a turn off for a man than a bored woman. It's usually done by pathetic, inadequate men so find their achilles heel & treat it accordingly... having a wife who'd turn them into a haggis if she knew is always a good one. :o)

And don't get me on me soapbox about the jurors debate, (I'm feeling grouchy today despite winning a fiver last night, whoopeee), I can't believe it's taken so long to be raised. Surely there has to be a better way to select them? Being comfortable with doing it would be a good start...it would be my worst fluffing nightmare, haha

Love it jno !!

Over here we usually (well not me!) have a panel of 3 to 4 judges instead of a jury, which makes more sense as they understand it all, but I think I heard somewhere that they were going to try (ha ha forgive the pun!) a jury system!!

Yes, Robi, totally inadequate men, and all powerful! little worms, when I did report one, the big bosses acted as if it was my fault and was only just 18!!!
Morning sex goddesses
I frequently get harassed by a chap I used to go out with years ago and who lives just round the road from me ! He's always most polite if he sees me when I'm with Mr.S but if I happen to bump into him in the library or High Street on my own he makes suggestive remarks which I just ignore .I'm so glad I didn't marry him ! He's turned into a dirty old man .Hahaa...
Some of 'em think they're Gods gift don't they .
I'm stiff as a baord today after traipsing round ,but it was a lovely exhibition .Watercolour in Britain .Lovely paintings .It was a lovely sunny day here yesterday too but it's all gone down the pan today.
I like the cakes KIt .You can get that Daim cake here ,it's delish .
Hope you are all OK and recovering from any ailments .Sorry to hear about your neighbour Robinia .

Hurump! No one harrasses me these days, wonder why!!
well, I am going out to dine with some friends this evening - one of them is a magistrate and I need her to sign a photo for my passport application. But this is what I am missing:

so if any of you would care to turn up in my place...
Question Author
Sorry jno, I have to ecline as having been to the real thing, I feel this would disappoint one!!
Question Author
*decline* sorry my keyboard is typing in shorthand these days!
I'm game jno http://i50.tinypic.com/242g29y.jpg - if I can tear myself away from "the vast pantheon of Swedish cakes and buns" as The Local puts it:) But to be honest I don't like champagne... and Robi the 'semla' may look tasty and it may be "the Keith Richards of the Swedish bun world" lol but when I was a child semlas were served in a bowl of hot milk and you can imagine how soggy they were before you were half way through one - yuk. That's ruined them for me. And I don't like "candy cake" so that means you can have the Daim cake all to yourself Shaney. But I did have zucchini cake yesterday which was heavenly... I'm not joking! Walnuts and stuff in it, and not too sweet but sweet enough, OMG it was sooooo good.

Oh well Jude I shall just have to endure the Pinter Party... Don't worry about having mislead me, cos you didn't - it was just a coincidence that my friends had chosen it, unbeknownst to me. Most of the time I let them choose as they are the ones who do the travelling and as one of them is having severe problems with her eyesight so she sort of prefers the "radio theatre" kind of play. Anyway, some of the actors are great so I'll be okay:)

My friend whom I was telling you about a couple of weeks ago (the one with the procrastinator's clock but a heart of gold:) has been diagnosed with a heart condition. I'm not sure how severe it is but it certainly affects her, which is why the procedure was initiated in the first place. She's my age almost exactly. I'm feeling sad about it:(
I shall have to decline too . Tut ..Champagne and cavier are so old hat :=0)
However my dear old bro has been round this afternoon and brought me a bottle of his homemade "Lings Vintage Sloe Gin "..yes ...you all know my maiden name now :)
Nicely bottled with an artistic label .
It's very nice too ,says she ..swig ,swig :)
At this rate I'll be watching Law and Order in triplicate .
well, the food wasn't great but the company was good (the magistrate, plus another friend, who's an apprentice jade carver in China) and I got my photo signed. The free champers would have been nice, though.
its 03.25 and i can't sleep. DH had a rough time at the dentist and is heavily under pain killers. We have a nice man coming to work in the garden tomorrow which means up dressed and the cars moved by 08.00....why am i telling you this?????
oh dear, woofgang, hope you got some sleep in between. Is the garden working out? Ours resembles a primeval swamp at the moment - I'm going to try to put in some proper drainage this year, as it will be cheaper than hiring lifeguards to watch out for sharks.
Morning Biddyfriends. Hope you get a better night tonight Woofy. I have nights like that sometimes and I usually end up getting up and making a drink.

We had snow when I got up this morning but the sun has come out and it's all gone now. In fact it's quite a nice day.

This is a photo of my pigeons from last summer and they are still around. I don't imagine they are the same ones but I still get loads of them.

Hope everyone else is ok and that you all have a good weekend.
Morning decliners and recliners...No one could possibly work in my garden today, it was a blizzard last night when I went out with Charlie and ditto this morning but it's clearing fast...my sister had about 4" of the stuff! Will this winter ever end? My poor hips feel as though I've been doing the hippy hippy shake for a month.

Sorry you were walking the floor in the early hours woofy & heaps of sympathy to Mr W, I'm still having flashbacks.
Sorry too about your friend Kit, I know a couple of men around my age who have heart probs, it makes you think.

Jude they're wood pigeons, lovely! well I like them, they always look too dumpy to take off. They nest in the only remaining tall conifer over the back from me & usually gather their building materials from my garden. It's the bloomin huge flock of 'town' pigeons that I'm watching as I type who drive me nuts... <bangs on window>... Booger off!!

If I heard correctly this morning in my sleepy stupor the wheeliestapo are putting microchips in Derby bins...I don't know why they don't just stick some in the bl00dy lav pans while they're at it, it's the only place we aren't spied on ....or are we?!

whooooshes off to check > > > > > > >
good morning all..stayed up all night then got a couple of hours between 9 and 11 so forgive the random nature of this post. I was just so flamingly angry last night I couldn't sleep..it was kind of unfairness rage about my Mum and the dog's ears and a few other things, like cosmic PMT. Good job I was safely at home alone (well the dogs were there) If anyone had so much as looked at me funny I would have lost it.
and now AB is playing up
Afternoon ornithologists! We found a new bird, how tiny and cute is he! http://www.thelocal.se/25008/20100216/

Woofy: Keep Calm And Carry On:) Woofy and Robi, do your dogs eat snow?? My eldest sister's dog (mix of different sheep dog breeds, lots of Border Collie) has begun this snowy winter to insist on being let out into the garden at night to... erm, well basically to EAT SNOW!

Better get myself dressed (that's right folks, I'm not even dressed) as I'm having a lamp and a mirror delivered. They won't specify at what o'clock, just "tonight" and they won't remove the cardboard and bring it away with them, unless I pay an extra 70 pounds =:O You heard me. I used a currency converter so trust me! So, I'd better start looking for my box cutter or Stanley knife or whatchamacallit. I know I've got one, but where, where.
