A healthy sporty 45 yr old friend here has died from heart attack with the heat
We are all shocked. His devoted best friend and wife is in hospital with shock!
Well that's all they can think it was!
It was 58° in the sun at noon. We are taking it very very easy. I felt dizzy walking 10ins back.from the village, but I now carry a bottle of water with me where ever I go.
Morning all
Nice sunny breezy day and not so hot as yesterday.
That's tragic Neti. Those temps are awful.I like the warm weather but not 58 degrees of it .Yes ,keep hydrated and stay in the shade.
Nothing doing here .Same old.Hope you're all ok otherwise.
We went.to an air conned Burger King for lunch. The other choice was a super restaurant on a little known beach about an hour away but seemed too hot. It was straight into air cooled car and quick walk to Burger king which was quite empty then back in cool car and home into cooled bedroom and that's where I've stayed. Temps should be lowering tomorrow but as July is usually pretty hot will we notice?
Hopefully last day of rehab tomorrow!
29° here today and sweat sweat sweat! It's the humidity which makes it worse! Cant do much at all. I just do enough to make house tidy and washing, and that dratted huge patio which is covered every morning in piles of leaves and bird poop
Have to sweep and mop it!
sweltering in 20 degrees here. I have been put down for laser eye surgery at the end of the month, then I'll have an angina stress ECG next month (hopefully), plus an implant somewhere along the line. It must be nice feeling healthy but I can't quite remember.
At least OH has, probably, twigged what's causing the painful feet: warfarin. Still to be confirmed with doctors but I'll bet it's correct, the timing fits perfectly.
Hello all
Cooler here too but just nice, sunny and breezy.
That could be the cause Jno.My brother has been on warfarin for a long time and I seem to remember he had painful feet at some stage.
Are you having that laser surgery to correct your sight? I've thought about it but it's expensive.Mind you ,I've spent mega money on specs over the years so would have had the money back in spades if I'd had it done.
Hope you're all ok.
shaney, one eye has got very slightly fuzzy, I can only read down to about five lines of letters from the bottom (unless given a mask with pinholes in - then it becomes much clearer). All on the NHS, but I don't know what it involves yet. I'm not great with eye surgery as I blink all the time; I had cataracts done under a GA whereas most people don't need it.
Lovely day today; we are going to Hampshire to meet a historian who's helped me with my family tree.
good morning all. A lovely cool start to the day here. I am probably going to take the door off the en suite and hang a vintage linen curtain instead. Going for a festival yurt vibe
That widow is on suicide watch in a psychiatric ward. She is devastated poor thing.
They are taking his body back to UK but would be cheaper and easier to have it cremated first!
Afternoon all
It's a lovely one too, warm and sunny with a light breeze.Ideal weather for me.
That is so sad Neti and quite understandable that she's in a bad way.
You sound as bad as me Jno .I can hardly read anything from the second line down! I hope whatever they do improves things for you.I have to go every year now for an eye test as they want to keep an eye on the cataracts. Eye Eye:)
Been to see the practice nurse about my medicaments. They've put me back on amytriptyline but a higher dose and if no improvement I have to go back to the pain clinic yet again.
Btw Neti, did the rehab help ?
Hi everyone
Oh your poor back shaney
Did rehab help? not a lot! It still hurts but maybe I can reach up my back a tad more
I shall tell the doctor its perfect as I will not go back to that BORING rehab ever again!! I love waking up now with no rehab! It's like being on my holi bobs!
Evening all
It's been another lovely day ,wall to wall blue sky and sunshine.
Hope you've all had similar. Not much going on just usual stuff and sofa surfing as it's Wimbledon fortnight.
Watched Rafa (nose, ears, adjust shorts) see off Kyrgios who is a brilliant player if he didn't have such a bad attitude. He makes McEnroe look like a pussy cat.Nice to see some new young players.Coco Gauff is a future champion in the making.Brilliant play so far from a 15 year old.Come back Robinia or I'll be discussing the tennis with myself :)
Hope you're all fine and and dandy though.Enjoy your rehab from the rehab Neti x
good morning all, its been a bit hot here but nothing near as bad as it has been. The rest of the curtain fixings are turning up today so I am hoping its cool enough for DIY. I have found a shower curtain with a life sized flamingo to go on the bathroom side of the door hole. The linen curtains have one spot that has been cut or torn.....it actually looks like a naughty child has been at it with scissors....fortunately I know how to darn so will be able to repair it in a truly vintage manner.
So sorry to hear about your friend Neti. I believe that there is actually a "thing" that causes this. Its called sudden cardiac death.
Hello all
Lovely day again ,bit overcast first thing but warm and sunny now.
That sounds very swish Woofy.
Nothing exciting doing .I've made an apple and sultana cake and am waiting for it to cool so I can have a slice with a cuppa.
Hope you're all ok.
double dip today, went to see Dr Implant and also asked him to investigate my latest toothache, so he's prescribed some amoxycillin and says he'll start implanting once this infection has cleared up.
We're going to Wemberlee tomorrow to see The Who, as the council was offering a modest discount on tickets to residents. Now I find thay're actually giving away tickets for free. Probably way up the back somewhere while ours seem to be in the same postcode as the stage. But I have never been to the stadium before.
