I met a guy recently on a dating website - he seems like a decent chap. We met for the first time last weekend - we just met up briefly on the Saturday evening for a soft drink to see if we liked each other.

He then asked me out for a meal on the Wednesday. The meal went well enough. He text me when I got home to say he had nice time and asked if he could see me again to which I replied I'd be happy to. He was having his daughter to stay from Saturday (yesterday) to Tuesday so I said I would leave it up to him on the when/where.

Anyway I've not heard anything back from him since Wednesday night. It's now Sunday. I thought he would've dropped me a text or something by now? I haven't text him as I would rather put the ball in his court. I would guess he's not that fussed about me if he's not dropped me a text over the weekend, even just to say hi. What do you think?

This dating lark is all game play isn't it? Not nice really. Feel like I'm 15 again! Will he, won't he text/call and so on. Who would be single!

\\\\This dating lark is all game play isn't it? \\\

Yes, of course, but good fun eh? You are only spending a matter of hours playing the game, so why not take it seriously for that short time. For the woman it is a matter of "can she still get a "partner" and for the man it is the maneuvering of the chess moves which end up in both of you getting into bed.

No big deal.

It could end up a very pleasant experience or a dead loss....no guarantees in this game of "dating". (I was going to say love LOL)

Take it easy mizzy.......... ......;-)
I wouldn't play any games. Keep your profile live- someone better may come along while he's "playing it cool". And certainly don't wait for him! If you want to see him, suggest a day and he can reply. If you're not bothered, keep looking.
Keep the profile live. Go and meet other people, don't just put your private life on hold for the sake of one bloke. You may be missing someone better in the meantime. If this one comes back, fine, though his absence may cause a few questions.

Pixie and Fred, great advice. My profile is up and running and we'll just see what happens next. I was actually feeling guilty for logging on to the site when I had only actually met the guy twice! I need to loosen up a bit and play the 'games' as sqad said.
Good luck x

Hi guys, not sure if any of you are around but I have an update. Soo, one week since I last saw/heard from guy from date last week, I get a text from him this evening saying, 'hi how's your week been'?

A full week has passed and not a word till now! I haven't replied thus far and I'm not sure I'm going to. Advice would be great.
what do you WANT to do?
Personally, I don't think a week's a very long time, mizzy. My week passes in a flash and it's come around again before I know it. I think that's a decent interval - just reply to say "nice to hear from you, I'm fine thanks", and see what happens next.

In my opinion I think he's left it too long without getting in touch. I don't think he can be that keen, lets face it. If someone is keen they don't let a week go by. I'll not answer right away but I will reply politely but will refuse any further offers to date.
It depends how much you like him. I would have contacted him first if i was interested. It strikes me he's either playing games, very busy or not bothered. Is that what you want?
Why not ? ...he did say he'd have daughter till yesterday...so this is his first free day !...I'd answer in a non committed way and see what comes back....Just say you've had a nice week and hope has too...then.......wait !!!

Boxtops, yea that's one of the reasons I asked for advice as I can jump to conclusions and be very defensive and end up cutting my nose off to spite my face. That's why it's good to get points of view from people like yourself so I don't do something rash. Thanks.
Question Author
Yea murraymints I think that's a good idea.
Perhaps this guy don't want to appear eager also. Just like you, he doesn't want to seem pushy and wants to take it slow?
If he is the "only show in town" then what is the problem?

Meet him.
Sqad the benefits of your advice are required on the Crotch Sniffing thread. http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Animals-and-Nature/Question1283887.html ;)

Apologies mizfiesta. As you were.
