I really really fancy a steak & kidney pie. What's the next best thing to home made? Plenty of excuses for not doing my own at the moment! (individual please, not family size....so sad).

My brother had it hard when he first went ot Oz, he worked (as a manager) in the Tom Price Mountains (no idea). He wasn't overly blessed with brains, he's just normal, but not afraid of hard work. He lived in a camp for ages but can't remember if his wife was in the camp or not. well through sheer hard work they have bought a lovely house (on google I can see him watering his plants in his socks and boots!) They've had 2 lovely children, the boy has become a Queen's Scout which they are proud of, I have no idea, and n ow they are Australians. They've had a good life there. Your son will settle and have a good life.
Was there a Luther this week cos I can't find it!
Mr S has a cousin here .His aunt ,ma in laws sister was married to an english chap .
Both gone now though but his cousin lives not far from us .When she got married they went to Adelaide and absolutely hated it .They only it stuck it out for a couple of years and came home .My brother( ten pound pommie) was in the camps when they first went out there .
They split the men and women up .They had to work really hard and never really had that money to come home even if they wanted to .I've never heard him say he made the wrong decision .Although it cost him his marriage .

No Luther this week Neti .That was the last one .

Frank Ifield was a lounge lizard Neti .And a triller .Male version of that woman who trills on the tele .Can't think of her name .Only he used to yodel .He was a finger snapper and whistler when he wanted a drink .I hated getting lumbered witth his table .I did tell him that if touched my backside once more that he wouldn't be drinking his beer ,he'd be wearing it .Slimy is what he was .Permatan and dyed hair .

Dull and cloudy here .T Pip for now .
Morning Both!

Why am I sitting on the computer when I should be doing loads of things.

We still have that damn cold North Wind here Shaney. What's it like your side of the county? It's lovely and sunny though. Shall have to get that liberty bodice out again.

Will main you later today Shaney. Take care xx
I thought Frank Ifield was gay. Must be someone else I am thinking of.
Hi Lofty
I haven't been up long ! It was really cold here last night and it's not much better this morning .I'm just looking out at the washing and trying to judge which direction the wind is coming from .I think it's a Norfolk whirly ,all directions :)
oh .... I think I see a glimmer of sun ...yes ..sun !! Now you see it now you don't .
I think he was after anything that moved Lofty ...male or female :))
He was really obnoxious .
Well I am gutted, he looked so vulnerable! Well, Robi's mum can have 'im!

I wore bedsocks last night for the first time in ages, was really chilly, but hot again now.

There is a black helicopter flying very low over these houses and it's making a loud banging noise, I keep shooing it away!

Morning each & every...I've looked in once this morning but remembered somthing I wanted to do in the front garden before the sun moved around & blinded me. Well by the time the whole world & it's dog had stopped for a chat the sun was round & getting very warm. It's lovely, perfect for me, a cool breeze but warm enought to leave your libertyb off.

Funny you mention France Lottie 'cos one of the last things my son said was that he'd miss being able to holiday there, they love it (& d-i-l has a degree in French!). Now I'd still be sorry they were leaving but be far happier if they were going there. Well I'm not going to bang on & dwell on it, what happens happens.

Right, better go spit in me mascara, hopefully a nice man's going to deliver some dog food before long (who whispered trollop?) If he lets me down I'll be after him & he'll be dog meat himself.

If Frank likes anything that moves my mum wouldn't of much interest to him neti, she's been gone nearly 9 yrs :o)
My mum's been gone 21yrs next month, takes a while to get used to the loss!
Hello everybiddy. I've had a very unusual morning. I went to meet a group of walkers thinking that's what I would be doing. I got to the designated place at the righ time and the leader said we were going to have a tour round The Royal Crown Derby Factory. So I asked would we be walking there. Oh no, she said we're bussing it there. I was a bit surprised. Anyway we went in and had a really good morning touring the factory and seeing all the processes of producng the china. We had a cuppa in the restaurant and had this guide to show us around. Also would you believe that I didn't have to pay anything. The leader of our group said no everything was paid for by the organisation. So I took my purse but never opened it. I eventually got a walk, by walking home. Very strange.
Afternoon possums. I never liked Frank Ifield but my mum too did as a matter of fact. My instincts are better than hers were:)

I bought a cast iron casserole yesterday - and had to go home by taxi, ha ha, darn heavy they are. Good thing I bought spices before I bought the casserole. Not far from where I live there's a small Asian spice shop and I was the only customer so the sweet young man took time to educate me. He said when you fry ginger, garlic, onion and dried chili pepper together with garam masala, that's just the BASIC flavouring after which you add THE OTHER spices. Did you know that?? I thought garam masala was it but he said when somebody says they made a garam masala curry well that's when he knows that they don't know what they're doing. (He said it very nicely though.)

Ha ha Jude what an odd "walking" experience...! Surpassed only by this one, one of my favourite skits from Smack The Pony https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kd0YSGvcw2I
Laughing at your walks Jude. There is a government sponsored organisation called 'Healthy Norfolk' and I think it's in other counties as well. All the planned walks are free. However, they are walks and not day trips on buses!!

Do you think perhaps that this was just a jolly that the group had done extra for an established group of walkers - more a social occasion perhaps.

My next walk will be upstairs to hoover!!

well reading your posts this day just gets spookier...
I was thinking what a strange one it's been (for me too Jude)...and I should have trusted MY instincts Kit. In fact, may I borrow the cast iron pot please?... to hit the 'nice' pet food man with!!! Yes he let me down - again...grrrrrrrrrrr...had a feeling he might. To cut a long story short I had to jump in a taxi late this afternoon to a different pet store (I'd phoned to check stocks), got him to wait to bring me back. You couldn't make this bit up...the food was on offer, yay!...and the cab fare was the exact same amount as the money saved!! So I was no worse off & I had a quick trip with a nice guy who'd had std poodles just like my last one. Well I'll go to the foot of ower stairs.
So despite feeling like cr4p all day it all turned out ok...seems this is a virus, my sister's got it too :o(
Just been out for dinner with some "girls" very nice Hic! now to bed!!
hello all its nice and interesting to read all your posts...especially the F Ifield ones, he always looked slimey to me too. Dh is doing well, process is slow but in the right direction.
We spent last night in casualty because he had a bit of a hiccup but no harm done...oddly he is tired today but quite a bit better...maybe it was the excitement lol, doubt it we didn't get home till 1.30 and were wacked.
Sis was going home today but is now staying on till saturday, Its nice to think she is just a phonecall and a coach ride away.
She comes back for a holiday on july1st, we had plans to go for a day to London but if we can't leave DH, we'll amuse ourselves locally.
they other funny thing is how well she and our dogs get on. She isn't fond of dogs, was bitten as a child, and is quite nervous but our two rapscallions idolise her and she loves them.
tired......night night
Good night Woofy You take care. Hope you all havde a good sleep.

Vin I don't know whether Mexico were good or France just made them look good ;o)
Sorry Robi for mentioning the unmentionabe. Yes it was an unusual day to say the least. Did you used to frequent the pet shop that recently closed down? (Have we had that conversation before sorry if we have) I used to go there. I tried the one round the corner but I think it's a bit more expensive.

Anyway I'm off to my bed. Sleep tight all.
Just popped in to say goodnight .I'v e changed my aviator as I don't want to appear biased :)
Tomorow I may just have to do something outrageous :)
Three games starting at dinner time and they will be watching all three .They've now got a book where they write in all the scores etc.
Put that cast iron pot down Robinia I need to borrow it .I'm gonna put it on my head to drown out the noise :)
Sounds like a good day out Jude . Magical mystery tour :)
Sorry to hear hubby had a setback woofy ,hope he feels better now .
Take care all and sleep well .
Morning all, raging headache here! Couldn't sleep after 3am (that's the wine for you) Just can't take it anymore.

Oh shaney I was gonna get two flags today as my aviator, but won't now. Will support England tonight.

Hope DH is continuing to get better, I thought he had the hiccups at first. D'oh!

morning all...bit dismal here
Good that Mr W's setback was only a blip woofy, onward & upwards from now on. Your sister sounds the same as I am with cats. I don't dislike them I just wouldn't define myself as a cat fanatic but when I walk into a place where they are they always head straight for me & sit down.

ok, ok I'll join in the aviators...the first thing I see when I open my bedroom curtains is a flag accross the road.... I come downstairs & open the blind & there's another one over the back..Shouldn't be long, look out for my new one...
