I know it's only fictitious, but the script writers are just so ignorant of how schools are run, what you can and can't do, LEA'S, etc. The whole thing is getting to me now!!! I watch it and am driving Mr LL nutty complaining about all the mistakes whilst I am supposedly enjoying watching it.

I used to quite like it. It is totally ridiculous now!

Anyone agree?

I am a huge autumn fan too...love the bright skies and crisp nights and all the colour
Never been on eBay, eh - and I was gonna say fess up you're 'Annie', jno! Very funny story, Neti did you read it, you're not the only one who hides your purchases or contemplates doing so. Well jno I can't say I remember who took the photos. Just generally I can tell you that Dad did take a lot of pictures and he was interested in gadgets so he may well have used a self-timer. One of his brothers would photograph too, before he moved to Britain...

Thought a lot about you last night Lottie, I wish you had had a sister or brother to share your childhood with not just in childhood but continuously; it means a lot. Maybe start a Sister Group for only-children? My eldest sister means the world to me.

Listen, class, should you receive dodgy emails from me, will you please let me know? My puta contracted something during its stay at the internet cafe, sigh... Everything including the anti-virus and firewall was reinstalled but a vital box had been left unticked so yep my puta may have to go back in again, not sure yet. But please let me know will you if something wicked your way comes from my email.

Oh I've earned a Cheezburger Trophy, for rating lolcats. Haven't picked it up, as that would entail signing up (go figure) but I have reason to believe it's reminiscent of a Best in Show medal and it says I Have An Opinion. I just may collect it and wear it ha ha ha!

Don't forget the lovely smells as well Woofie. Woods especially smell wonderful in the autumn. The skies over the sea at Sheringham were just magnificent last night and there was a wonderful sunset.

We were down here at the end of the sea defences but the tide was right out and there were acres of sand. Just a few people down there, mostly with their dogs. Just lovely.

Hi Swedie. Thanks for thinking of me. Actually, I never missed having brothers and sisters as a child, I had plenty of friends and loads of company and quite a few cousins as well. Being an only child has made me very self sufficient. However, a sister now would be good, so I will adopt all the Biddies as sisters!! (except Vinny!!)

My son is an only child too. I had him when I had just turned 36 and never felt the need to reproduce again. I never was a person to want babies. Love my son dearly of course!!
Hi Chooks
Well talking of parents my Mother always told me there'd be days like this !
Blankety blank screen yesterday ,trying to adjust the brightness after logging on I managed to fluff it up somehow and then sod me we had a powercut ....
Mr S fiddled with it and got it going and told me leave buttons which I know nothing about.. alone .
Then my friend came round with her sister who is here from South Africa which was nice and we sat and nattered in the garden .
.But ,today ,we've trekked all the way into town to go on a boat trip up the river and round the new outer harbour .
No boat on the quay so we trek in the other direction towards the harbours mouth and there she is moored up ..not sailing today .
But in the local paper they said there were three sailings today . Grrr...So we trek back ,by this time my hips are in scream mode .

Get home and I was so fed up I sat and blubbed ! I was so looking forward to it .
Mr S says we can go again tomorrow .I don' t know if can be bothered :(
I'm in lurching mode..I go from one mood to another lately and cry at the drop of a hat.
And talking of parents ,mine were fine .Mum could be an argumentative b at times She and my sister argued like cat and dog, they were too alike and she did interfere in my eldest bros first marriage ,but as I've said to him he should have stood up to her at the time .But I had a happy childhood really .

Families are funny but I love my brothers who are my rocks and at the moment I would give anything to be able to go to my Mum and Dad or my lovely Mutti and Papa .

I know what Dad would do ...pour me a large drink :)
new TV channel has just launched, Vintage TV: music, culture and fashion from the 40s to the 80s (the 80s? good grief, did anything happen in the 80s?)

On Freesat 515 and Sky 369. They've got Route 66 on at the moment.

http://news.sky.com/s...%3A_Music_Videos_1976
Thanks Jno ....I haven't got Sky ,Freesat or anything .In fact if the wind is in the wrong direction I have bugger all :))
PS .Those are lovely pictures Kit . I think you look very like your mother.Your dad was a handsome chap :)
I've got loads of old photos of my family and Mr S's family but I have no scanner to put them into the computer .Well ...we have got a scanner but it's broken !
Can't get that channel jno as we do not have a big enough dish, such a shame!

Hi Shaney. Sorry about your river trip. Try and go tomorrow if you can. The weather is great at the moment and who knows it might be snowing this time next week.
My Dad has been gone since 1981 - almost 30 years and I still miss him. I could really talk to my Dad. He was a good friend and didn't ever try to interfere in my life. Sometimes I can see him as clearly as anything and hear his voice too.

Like Shaney, jno, we have nothing but terrestrial channels and sometimes we are lucky to get these. We also have a very small old television. One of the big ones would not fit anywhere suitable. We have an inglenook with a door to one side and shelves to the other. I suppose we could have a large television at the other end of the room but then we would have to sit with our backs to our fire. Such is life.

Have just been on a two mile trek across the fields. I am worn out the dog is still raring to go!! Mind you it was just the right temperature for walking. Still nice and sunny but with a cool breeze.

No one of these Neti

With one of these hanging on the front

Actually, that combination is exactly what I remember when we first had a television in 1952.
Hi all. Well I've got done everything I was going to do Freezer defrost and filled up.A good walk and curry for lunch. Everything went well until I slipped in the water on the floor when doing the freezer. Luckily I went down gracefullly and just grazed my arm.
I think I must have sounded as though I had an unhappy childhood but I didn't really. I was well looked after and kept warm and safe.It still didn't stop me feeling how I do. I love my sisters and bro dearly and even though there is a difference in ages (I can remember taking my bro and sister out in their prams.) we get on well. When our Mum was having our brother, my older sister and me were pregnant at the same time. March April and May they were born.:~)
Don't worry about having a weep Shaney. It's a great stress reliever. I'm the biggest cryer, even a piece of music can set me off. You might feel like going again tomorrow when you've had a sleep.
Just arranged with my son t pick me up from his friends on Sunday to bring me home. His friend services and MOTs my car every year. I'm thinking of changing it this year for a newer Focus. I remember how chuffed I was when I told you about having the one I've got now.
Cuppa tea time ~ see yer later 'gater(s)!
Sorry if some of you can't open my email, It was only a game nothing very exciting. Still haven't made that cuppa.....
Oh Shaney...You just reminded me of my Dad. On my wedding day everyone else left for church except dad and me and he poured me a large neat vodka. My last act as a single woman was to have drink with my Dad.

to cheer you up

Hi Woofy, what a lovely memory. My Dad did used to pay me a compliment when I took him his Sunday Roast after my Mum had died. He used to say I was the only one who cooked like her!
Aaw that was lovely Woofy .Thank you .
During the last couple of months of his life my dad was bedridden .the cancer went to his spine and he lost the use of his legs so we had a bed downstairs for him .
My Mum used to go to the hairdressers Tuesday afternoon as it was my afternoon off so I sat with Dad .
I used to make him a cup of tea and then he'd say " Has your mother gone yet? " and I'd say "Yes" ..then he would say .."The whisky's in the sideboard ,put a good slug in my tea ,don't stir it and don't tell your mother ! " Bless him.
One day while out I was out the back kitchen he tried to get out of bed and sent everything on the sideboard flying .I had a an awful job to get him back into bed .
Their old house is only up the road here and I try and avoid walking past it and seeing that room at the front where he died .
Hard to believe he's been gone forty years .Where does the time go ?

You haven't been on the whisky have you Jude :)) ....Sliding round the kitchen .Good job you were graceful ..I go down like a sack of spuds :)
Evening possums. Took my new trainers for a walk and the climate went from perfect summer to bl00dy autumn while I was out:( But the trainers were good. Adidas, bought them months ago but haven't used them. The sales girl diagnosed the degree of my pronation and handed me these ones and I think she knew her business:)

I was able to open your game email Jude. Thank you. It's driving me insane;-) I'm addicted to a game called Zuma's Revenge, don't think we're allowed to post game links but there's a free online version at Popcap dot com. You have to refresh it a couple of times to get it to load but it will load.

attention seeker alert! http://i56.tinypic.com/16j1wtu.png

...he he he! Actually that's Jeny Staiman, who created the pattern http://curiousknitter...ed-duck-slippers.html She's some kind of genius really, listen Shaney she's invented a brilliantly stretchy cast-on and cast-off for ribbing, I'll post them later tonight or tomorrow.

Beatiful piccy of the sea Lottie. Oh Shaney do go on your trip tomorrow!

Wish I could view that channel jno. I'll have to make do with some Swedish retro https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eDZ204SWjLE
Blinking eck Kit I'd go cross-eyed trying to play Zumas Revenge. I'm useless at stuff like that.
