AOG - ///// Do you have a problem taking an opposing position in a debate without being rude to the people who don't agree with you? ///

/// It's against the spirit of the AB, and it does contravene Site Rules. ///

Perhaps you should copy this, and then paste it, so as to address some of your Left of Centre comrade's more ruder comments, just in the interest of equality you understand?//

If anyone has any issue with anything posted on the site to anyone about anything, they have the resource of the Report function.

That is equality right there.
eh, how did Jimmy Savile get on here?
divebuddy - //It's funny how the people now chanting the ...innocent until proved guilty mantra are the same ones who would have us believe that those accused of historical sex offences (specially if they are Tories) must be guilty. //

I can only speak personally, but the Innocent-until-proven-guilty is my default position, so I cannot recall decrying anyone, Tory or otherwise in any debate about abuse.

Do you have any names .. dates ... cut-and-pastes to back up your claim?

well you just have to read mikeys analysis of who is guilty as sin when scurilous allegations were flying thick and fast on the basis of a Labour MP's book. I locked horns many times with him on that debate and also quouted "where is your proof?, innocent t'il proven guilty, if you are so why have you not disclosed your evidence to the authorities2? That went on for many months. No doubt there was NO doubt that Lawson was guilty as hell in Mikey's opinion. All on the basis of "smile for the camera"

This thread with the quantity of it's posts removed, is like listening to anyone stuttering.
Mr aog
Are you really that surprised ?
It's annoying, I click on to read the post and it's gone .. !!
Well, if folks kept their posts 'on-topic' instead of the incessant whining that goes on, the threads may stand a chance of remaining both readable and interesting.

I think the majority of people on AB are in favour of 'due process of the law' and are anxious to see any perceived wrong-doer subjected to it......it is only a few of the more rabid contributors who think that they ought to be able to pick and choose just who should be scrutinised, and who shouldn't.

///He was described in US military files obtained by the WikiLeaks website as a 'close associate of Osama bin Laden' who fought in the battle of Tora Bora.///

Yet another welcome addition to the UK then?

How can answering this question of my past experiences of usage of the Report Function, become yet another victim for removal?

AOG - //This thread with the quantity of it's posts removed, is like listening to anyone stuttering. //

Any posts that are not following the thread in terms of the OP, together with any threads that are deemed to be unpleasant, vindictive, personal, or looking for a fight - are removed.

Anything else stays on.

Hope this helps.

We cross-posted - but we are in agreement.
If money is what you are worried about AOG then at least MI6 won't have to fly out to watch him get waterboarded any more and claim goodness knows what on expenses. That cannot have been cheap.

I wouldn't trust American 'military files' if they told me the day of the week had a 'y' in it.
//Any posts that are not following the thread in terms of the OP, together with any threads that are deemed to be unpleasant, vindictive, personal, or looking for a fight - are removed. //

Did you actually C&P that from Site Rules or did you use your own words and thoughts there?
"any threads that are deemed to be unpleasant, vindictive, personal, or looking for a fight - are removed.".

Should we add passive-aggressive to this list, I wonder?
retrocop - //Did you actually C&P that from Site Rules or did you use your own words and thoughts there? //

I used my own words - please can we stick to the debate.

Thank you.

Can we stick to the debate please - constant 'off-topic' posts lead to entire threads being pulled, which helps no-one.
