/// It's against the spirit of the AB, and it does contravene Site Rules. ///
Perhaps you should copy this, and then paste it, so as to address some of your Left of Centre comrade's more ruder comments, just in the interest of equality you understand?//

That is equality right there.

divebuddy - //It's funny how the people now chanting the ...innocent until proved guilty mantra are the same ones who would have us believe that those accused of historical sex offences (specially if they are Tories) must be guilty. //
I can only speak personally, but the Innocent-until-proven-guilty is my default position, so I cannot recall decrying anyone, Tory or otherwise in any debate about abuse.
Do you have any names .. dates ... cut-and-pastes to back up your claim?

well you just have to read mikeys analysis of who is guilty as sin when scurilous allegations were flying thick and fast on the basis of a Labour MP's book. I locked horns many times with him on that debate and also quouted "where is your proof?, innocent t'il proven guilty, if you are so why have you not disclosed your evidence to the authorities2? That went on for many months. No doubt there was NO doubt that Lawson was guilty as hell in Mikey's opinion. All on the basis of "smile for the camera"
Well, if folks kept their posts 'on-topic' instead of the incessant whining that goes on, the threads may stand a chance of remaining both readable and interesting.
I think the majority of people on AB are in favour of 'due process of the law' and are anxious to see any perceived wrong-doer subjected to it......it is only a few of the more rabid contributors who think that they ought to be able to pick and choose just who should be scrutinised, and who shouldn't.

I wouldn't trust American 'military files' if they told me the day of the week had a 'y' in it.

Should we add passive-aggressive to this list, I wonder? //
Can we stick to the debate please - constant 'off-topic' posts lead to entire threads being pulled, which helps no-one.
