"The British Retail Consortium" Which represents all the major food and retail chains in the UK.
Has said it expects to see food shortages and more empty shelves by the end of this week.

Its not a case of disagreeing or agreeing with gully, its looking at the facts. As someone who normally sells product to the EU, I personally am hitting brick walls trying to trade with the EU. They are making a scapegoat of the UK in a vain attempt to try and stop other Nations from thinking about coming out. Boris did not make good deals and God knows he had plenty...

I've been 'lucky' too. No problems at all.

Boris is in America at the moment trying to fix a deal with Joe to supply the UK with Tinned Spam in case of emergency.
lucky you, ladybirder. I imagine they fill out the orders at the nearest depot, so ours would come from somewhere in NW London; but lorry

In fact I've sometimes gone to an actual shop the day after receiving an order and found the things they didn't have the day before. Supermarkets operate a just-in-time delivery policy so that in theory shelves are never too full or never too empty; but it doesn't take many driver shortages to disrupt the strategy.
I think that unfinished sentence said something like "lorry shortages mean not all depots will get the same stocks".
Absolutely no problems here.

£170 ASDA order fulfilled completely - as always.
looks like the shops are making sure Tory voters are well supplied then.

And how would a shop manager know who was a Tory voter?

They has posh stuff like Heinz beans and Pringles.
We have had the odd thing not on the shelves but usually in a day or so it is back. By the way gulliver Spam is made in Denmark not the USA.

SPAM " Specially Processed American Meat ".... Country of Origin USA
Just back from my vaccine booster and took a trip to the Asda superstore
Not a bare shelf in sight but especially in the bread and fruit/veg sections
They were overflowing
Brexit must be booming !
//The name Spam was derived from a contraction of 'spiced ham'. //
and all the tins in my cupboard were produced in Denmark.
Spam meat comes from the USA and gained world wide popularity in WW2. It is a product of the USA. I'm sure Denmark probably make it but it does not 'come' from Denmark.
Spam was produced under licence in the UK up until 1998 when the production was moved to Denmark.
Someone should tell the Spam eaters that the war is over.
Spicerack, Heinz and Pringles but also the secret handshake.
