*** me!!

There's always one.

Could one be more specific?

Although it may never be revealed which cancer it it,( I suspect if there is a benefit to others we may be told in time as it would fit with the King's ideas of service) there are not too many the recent course of treatment or  investigations would show up.

I am more worried by Harry coming back to see his father but he may have been asked to come to support the family especially as William has to get back on duty sooner than he wanted.

The Big one is never good news, even if 'caught early'.

I wish him well.

//it may never be revealed which cancer it it//

Given the method of its discovery, I'd venture to suggest its either bowel or bladder cancer.  Poor man.  If Harry is flying in I imagine it's not a simple thing.  I hope he doesn't bring Meghan with him.

Meghan is staying at home

Good.

I think Charles might love to see his grandchildren at a time like this.  A decent wife would think of this, but Megan doesn't think about anybody else but Megan.

I was thinking bladder cancer.  That's not a good thought.  I agree that would be quite likely to show up on the tests and procedures he had.

I was thinking more along the lines of Non Hodgkin Lymphoma or Lymphoma as treatment is out patient based

I can't understand why there is so much speculation about which type of cancer he has. Does it matter? He is in the best of hands, and is being treated promptly.  Unlike many thousands who can only wait for treatment.  I wish him a speedy recovery.

Because people are interested, maggiebee, and concerned.  He's the king.

-- answer removed --

Speculation is disrespectful. The fact that he is King makes it more offensive, not appropriate.

Of course it isn't, Canary.  I think the people wondering what's wrong are those who respect the king the most.  The sour pusses couldn't care less.

We're lucky we're even told about it ...

If he's going to be out of action for some time, I suppose they have to say something.  We'd all be wondering where he is.

I wish the King well, too. Am in agreement with maggiebee, those who need to know have been told the nature of his cancer. The important thing is the diagnosis has been made and treatment has started. The more surmising there is the sooner someone on here will have presumed correctly.

There can be little doubt that Charles loves both of his sons and he will await keenly Harry's arrival. At least the media should be kept at arms length to allow the family to meet in private and, hopefully, remember the reason they are brought together. The Queen will be an enormous strength for her husband for sure.

would we? i suspect they could just roll out old footage of him and hardly anyone would notice the difference...

christopher hitchens once called the royal family britain's national doll collection and when i read the piffle about which family members are flying over or not, what should be done with the grandkids etc i can't help but agree with him!
