Avast Blocking My External Hard Drive

My Avast demanded to be updated yesterday, so I did. Now when I plug my external hard drive in (a little Maxell portable) nothing comes up and I can't back things up. I assume these two events are connected as there was no trouble till today.

Is there any way to tell Avast to permit it? Or of restoring the earlier Avast? (Though I assume the latter would be risky.)

(Please don't advise installing MSE instead as I had the same trouble with it in the past; that's why I installed Avast in the first place.)

two days in a row when it's been quite sunny - it must be summer. I dug more weeds out of the lawn and got eight ant bites in one arm; I feel as if I'd got a tattoo. We went to see Dunkirk and as I expected it was very noisy and a lot of it quite claustrophobic, even though the screen is about the size of a gas-holder. Apart from that, I don't seem to have achieved much at all.

I haven't done much today either .It's been mainly sunny and just nice temp wise.Swept around outside , did some washing..Sat about on the tete for a while dosing up on Vit D and watching the greedy starlings demolish fat balls quicker than I can supply them.
Made some dinner ,watched tv.Caught up with Desmond in Normal for Norfolk at Wiverton Hall. He's such an eccentric man but very sweet and I love his amazing eyebrows.
Tomorrow looks set fair too but rain on the way again at night according to Accu, which is ok by me as long as it's not another deluge

Good morning. Am on war path today. Have to go and sort out the garage, car is taking way too long, and damned dhl. I am not waiting in all day Just in case my parcel is in Ibiza.

Afternoon each, little red riding hood here :) The jacket came in record time (Royal Mail, sorry neti) and I love it. It's a soft pink red so it isn't too bright for my pasty complexion and enough room to wear a warm layer underneath if needed.

Sunny/cloudy today, yesterday was lovely and I didn't overdo it. Fetched my prescription and I've got to have a review again(!), tut, before the next one in eight weeks. I'll make an appt online next month so hopefully I'll see the nice gp again.

I watched HMS Queen Elizabeth sail into Portsmouth this morning. What an amazing sight.

Nice jacket Robinia ,just the thing for when the weather is neither one thing nor t'other.I love my cotton parka jacket that I bought some time ago now.
It's quite nice here again but rain tonight.As long as it keeps fine tomorrow as I'm going for a tootle round with my brother to the farm shop and a bit of lunch somewhere.

Good morning. My phone stopped working so have ordered another one for tomorrow. Was using my phablet but there is not "answer now" button so couldn't post.
My dress from markses finally arrived. It's a bit mumsie, it spend 6 days in Palma and even then I had to run 2 streets away to collect it!
Hopefully car will be ready tomorrow, they promised!

So sorry Neti. Its frightening when it hits close to home. Reasonable day here after a drastic night. Got quite a lot done. Back is finally feeling better. Dogs are happy. I have claimed my winter fuel payment...or at least been told I don’t have to claim it and that it will be paid automatically. We had another powercut here today. We have had loads lately...they mailed all of us to say that they had fitted a diagnostic thingy which would automatically reset the trip and send them info to fix the problem. Anyway it looks like today they fixed it which is nice as whenever it went out, I wondered if the freezer would be ok. I also gave the kitchen cupboards their annual turn out today...living the high life here.

As I have universal blood I felt I had to offer to donate some to Barcelona but luckily they now have enough!

Yes they send you your dosh into your bank account Woofy round about end of November beginning of December.It is a help especially now that British Gas have put up the leccy prices.We're going to switch.
Had a nice tootle out and a tasty prawn and salmon salad lunch in the garden centre.Got nice meat,eggs etc from the farm shop and got some veg at a farm gate.It got out lovely the further inland we went .
Weary now so I'll say 'night all.
