I have bought a rather nice writing slope on ebay, however the lock doesn't work at all. Its quite easy to remove though and in fact I suspect that its not the original one anyway. I've hunted around but the only supplier of replacements I could find is in america and the p and p is huge.

Does anyone know of a UK supplier of writing slope (wooden box) locks please? Either new or old but they must work and come with a key.

Good morning biddies.
Hope you all had a good night.
Hope your Bro is feeling better shaney but he must be feeling very bad. Pooran.
Where's Robi it's been ages?
Morning all
Bit dull out there .I slept very well last night for a change ,I was so tired I just zonked out.He is better Neti .In a way I'll be glad when Christmas is over ,it'll be so sad for him as their 60th anniversary will be Christmas Eve .I think once it's over he may see a way forward.
Poor man, yes hopefully, but you can'tget over a loss like that of your partner for 60 yrs. Is he going to your house for xmas?
Still warm here in the daytime, and no xmassy feeling at all.
Still on the hunt for a 900w plain and simple 23l microwave, do they exist ?? who knows?
Where is the Robi?? I am worried about her now.
well, good evening. I went for a walk, I came back. (This was all rail-assisted at each end.) I kept an eye open for possible Xmas presents but I didn't find any. I pulled out a lot of ivy growing over the fance from next door, since he's away, and put it in his binm - it's starting to disrupt his brick fence out front and I want it stopped before it starts climbing up our own walls. So... another exciting day.
My drain has been dug out. Can now use washer but drains have to be covered tomorrow.

I've been slobbing out watching a DVD set, then I fell asleep and woke up to hear the theme tune going on and on.So now I'm having a nightcap or I'll be wide awake when I go up.
Those boots are nice Woofy. They've got a sale on at the Ruche shoe shop in the High St but I really don't want any more shoes or boots or those other things ..waddya call 'em ...oh yes ....handbags ..Lol.It's very tempting but I don't go anywhere to wear all the clobber I've already got .
My brother doesn't want to come to any of us for Christmas Neti. His decision and we have to respect that.
I've emailed Robinia ...Night all.
Good morning all. I've been in touch with Robi and she says thanks to all for thinking about her. She hasn't had her computer and will be in touch over the weekend.
I'll be back properly soon too. Take care all.
Morning all, yes I emailed Robi too, glad she is ok.

Boots have arrived and are lovely. My first EVER pair of DM’s. We went out to marks to shop today and the fridge and freezer are now bulging. marks had short use by turkey breast so I shoved one in the freezer and roasted one for dinner. We all ate too much turkey and there is loads left for tomorrow. I have just realised that we are all still up at stupid o clock, no reason, I am watching a silly christmas film.
Good morning...here I is.
So sorry I left you hanging, thanks for missing me....if you did :) I thought some of you had enough worries and woes to cope with so I didn't bother you with emails.
I gave up trying this site on my kindle, it constantly froze or closed it down and I only got this big puta back a few days ago. According to Tarquin there weren't any major problems, but he swept and dusted it out, did a bit of tweaking and installed 'that which musn't be mentioned' - so no expensive handbags will be calling me on every page. ;)
I've been a bit under the weather and I'm only just (hopefully) seeing the last of this phiz rash. 'Family doc' said it might be viral, especially with my eye infection, so I've stuck it out. Didn't want my gp giving me things I didn't really need.
Hope you're all as ok as... I'll catch up with your posts over the weekend. I'm krackered, I'm getting over shopping with my sis yesterday....zzzzzzzzzz

Glad you are back Robi :) If it is viral, then rest is the only cure so take it easy. I have also got the unnameable installed and I am sure its part of why I don’t get problems.
perhaps you should have something unnameable installed at your front door to keep viruses away. I am thnking of going to a Westfield this afternoon to "do some Christmas shopping" but really just to get out of the house and get some exercise. I just know it's going to be heaving, though.
Hello all
Nice that you're back Robinia , firing on all cylinders.
I've got that which can't be named on my computer and tablet and it all seems to run alright.
Hope you soon feel better .It's my turn to be poorly :) I've got a venous ulcer come up on my lower leg and ouch it's sore and the skin round it is burning .The leg has never been right since I had that cellulitus.I've had to dig out my tight socks and I think I'll go to the mexico.I don't want it festering over the festive season.
Hope the rest of you are Ok .Persisting with rain here and cold.
Afternoon folks, yes I missed you Robi, I did keep asking.
Glad you and your puta (which overhere means a prossie) are back with us. Just rest and relax and get better.
You too shaney, I haven't forgotten to look out for The Americans next year.
Got up early and went to lidl (useless) and the big local supermarket, not too good either. We are apparetnly going to a 69th surprise birthday party tomorrow afternoon for out cat sitter, am not looking forward to it. It'sll just be a booze up and watch footy, so have checked and there is a bus home at 17hrs so i'll get that if I've had enough. Quite honestly all I want to do is be in my cosy warm house, must be getting old!
There is no xmas cheer here in the village this year. There is a lovely tree in the square and that is about it. Cant get in the mood, it's just like a normal month, such a shame. and then there's Mr N (the Grinch) saying he doesn't enjoy xmas! No pressies round the tree as we are all giving money to each other, as postage is very expensive and not sure if others like the gifts. So I have had to wrap a couple of empty boxes for under the tree as it looks so bare, isn't that sad! Mind you I took more care and attention wrapping them than I do with real presents, they've little bows on and everything, sad sad sad!! I will get Mr N a couple of presents next week though!
On the plus side, I have found a spray of body/hair glitter and have sprayed my hair, I glitter like a veritable fairy now!!
Not sad at all Neti .We don't go over the top these days on presents .Just small gifts. We have stuff and I really don't want more stuff. As long as you're warm and dry and can have a nice meal that's the main thing and of course watch the last ever Downton:)
It's quite Christmassy round the town though with a tree in the High St and lights and in GY we have an ice rink on the market place would you believe.
It's getting as bad as London:)
ah yes, we have a rink outside the town jail, shaney

Also outside various museums and art galleries. Not that I would ever try it, my ankles sprain themselves at the sight of a chalk line on the pavement.
