I have bought a rather nice writing slope on ebay, however the lock doesn't work at all. Its quite easy to remove though and in fact I suspect that its not the original one anyway. I've hunted around but the only supplier of replacements I could find is in america and the p and p is huge.

Does anyone know of a UK supplier of writing slope (wooden box) locks please? Either new or old but they must work and come with a key.

Morning all...it's bright and breezy, washing's flapping and drying well, bulbs are coming up, winter honeysuckle covered in flowers. Not a hint of the festive season....and I love it. I can almost pretend it isn't happening.

Snap! woofy. I was exactly the same last night, the wild wind and a bin going over didn't help (not mine). In fact I still feel very much on edge. It's the shortest day tomorrow and there's a full moon looming.

Well done Jay, so pleased he won Strictly.
Hmmmm
Are you all still abed?
I have been halfway round the island, ive bought a pair of boots, had lunch and back home again!
And what are you all doing?
Well shiver me timbers, there was no there whrn i posted on the tablet!!
sniffling... I think I have a very faint cold. Two days ago I was sneezing, yesterday I was fine, not I'm feeling scratchy-throated. (Usually these stages all develop within about three hours.) I can see this one lingering on into the new year. I wonder where it came from? I've hardly left the house for a week.

bleeuurghhh
General election here today bit not for us foreigners however long we've lived here! !
Jno I've been expecting a cold for the last 12 month. Get all the signs and then nothing. I don't mind.
And to add insult to injury the General election is the reason all the post is being held up. The blurb and postal votes had right of way. Ours are of no consequence!
Bah bloody humbug!

Lol Neti ,please don't sing rainbows on roses and whiskers on kittens in triplicate .
Hope you're all as well as.Yes 'tis the snotty season Jno .There's always something round Christmas . Drink plenty of Baileys :)
I'll say goodnight as I have to be up early to see nurse.
Good morning, are we all present and correct?
Good luck shaney with the nurse and the leg.
I bought MrN his first smartphone as another xmas present. He'll never conquer it, but the van has bluetooth and he thinks he should use it. Ill be mithered non stop now about how to do........ Its a samsung J1. The shopgirl brought out several cheaper ones but no, he went straight for the samsung, I prefer it as they are more reliable than the unknown makes. I got change from 100€ ! Enough for 2 coffees and a tip!
Yes shaney i thought of your bro yesterday, not that i knew the exact date, how is he coping. Poor man.
